Relax and enjoy yourself while staying at this island waterfront cottage nestled in a quiet setting on Sturgeon Bay. The cottage is on Fairbanks Point which is considered by many locals to be one of the most desirable locations on the island. Fairbanks Point is a peninsula located on the Northwest side of Drummond Island where numerous surrounding islands provide sheltered waters for excellent boating and fishing.
The home's interior has an 'up north' feel which includes a stone fireplace and T & G pine paneling. Whether going for a walk down the quiet road, taking a canoe ride on Sturgeon Bay or kicking back and watching the deer as they walk through the yard, you'll find this a nature lover's paradise.
First floor: living room with sleeper sofa, full kitchen, and master bedroom with a queen size bed, second bedroom with a queen size bed, full bathroom, and bunkhouse(detached) has two sets of bunk beds and a futon. Sleeping bags needed for bunkhouse.

My husband & I along with our two daughters ages 12 and 11 and our little Chihuahua very much enjoyed the cabin on Lake Huron. The cabin itself was absolutely perfect in every way imaginable Very clean, & comfortable. We loved sleeping in the master bedroom with the gorgeous lakefront view! Morning coffee on the deck & dock was very relaxing, listening to the beautiful sounds of the water & birds. On our first day there we were greeted by a friendly deer in the driveway Our girls loved the stay as much as we did. There was plenty of room for all of us to stay comfortably. Our girls spent lots of time in the bunkhouse to get away from mom and dad were needed! However, they would not sleep out there in fear of a bear (lol) there was nothing that we needed during our stay that was not provided at the cabin. We also took advantage of the provided fishing poles and Row boat. The seclusion of the property was wonderful. We ventured on just about every part of Drummond island that we possibly could with our jeep. We found that where the cabin was situated was the best possible spot for us to be on the entire Island to stay. Even our girls preferred to swim off the dock at the cabin instead of the public beaches that we found on the island. It was an amazing vacation we would do it again and hope to do it again very soon Our favorite sightseeing place on the island was fossil ledges it was beautiful Everyone on the island was very helpful, considerate and extremely friendly. We are now talking about someday retiring there ! I would recommend this property for anyone, people with children, or no children. A younger couple, or an older couple. This cabin is perfect for anyone who wants to get away and enjoy a beautiful vacation with a breathtaking view !!!
We just enjoyed two weeks at the Birchwood property along with our 2 bulldogs. We loved the lake access with dock. We floated on tubes and played fetch with the dogs. (Water shoes recommended--rocky bottom/clear water) There is a canoe & rowboat on site to use. We spent many nights around the bonfire & it was great that firewood was provided. The Cottage has a nice kitchen with plenty of space and furniture looks nice for an 'up north feel'. The 2 bedrooms are pretty standard with log bedframes. The bed in the room with the sliding glass door could use a new mattress, not real comfy in my opinion. Satellite TV and DVD player provided is a nice feature for a rainy day. Bunkhouse is very cute, but we didn't have anyone sleep there. Well stocked with towels/linens and it's great there is a stacked washer /dryer. We love exploring Drummond Island. Thumbs up👍
