Perfection. We stayed here to drop off our daughter at Tulane. Very bright and cheerful - just what we needed for a potentially sad situation. It’s in a beautiful area- close to restaurants and Whole Foods. Communication was great. Only problem was that us about 10 minutes to figure out the lockbox- LOL. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Thank you, Marina! Glad you had a nice stay and enjoyed our property. And thank you for leaving it so neat and clean!
Location, Location, Location
We spent a week in NOLA prior to dropping our daughter off at college. We were familiar with the area and this property proved as expected. We had a wonderful trip. Would recommend this property to anyone who likes the idea of staying uptown. It has everything you need.
Great property in great local but, poor management
Wonderful New Orleans property blocks from where I grew up as a kid. Entry to the property was problematic; the “lock box” was behind a shutter. Property manager did not inform us of this minor detail. This caused 10 minutes of unnecessary frustration trying to get the door open. Then, the AC unit in the house was “stuck” at 74F. In 95F summer in New Orleans, that is too warm. It was an old house with no insulation... the AC unit ran night and day trying to cool the house. We had to borrow fans from nearby family to stay cool. We informed the manager of the problem The property manager was not able to remedy the AC problem during our stay. No refund of reduced charge was offered. The house was “Old New Orleans” but had white upholstery everywhere; really...on a rental?! Nuts! Kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need ...but, strange. There were shelves in the refrigerator and the freezer labeled “ Owner Only”. WTF!!
In summary, a great house in a great location with property defects and poor management. Would I go there again: yes. But, not a highly rated property. Thus, THREE Stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️
John, sorry you had trouble getting in. I'm not sure how you didn't get the instructions on how to get into the property, but if you didn't get the instructions, I apologize for that. You did tell me about the AC, which I later found out from my AC man that the thermostat needed a new battery. I did reach out to you about that the AC problem and you said you were fine, for me not to worry about it, that you had borrowed some fans. I got the AC repairman out as quickly as I could. There is brand new spray foam insulation in the house; it's just New Orleans, the ceilings are 11 feet tall, and we, like a lot of other places in the country, are having a heat wave. I usually set the AC on constant run as opposed to auto so it doesn't turn off and on too often. There is also a separate AC unit upstairs which was fine. As far as the refrigerator, I do live there when there are no guests, so we do reserve two drawers (no shelves) in the refrigerator and only one basket in the freezer with some frozen blueberries and a loaf of bread. If that was a problem, you should have let me know. I also did give you a discount off of the price for the two extra children. And as far as the white slipcovers on the furniture, I can understand your concern since you had two small children, but we have had lots of children in the house and it has never been a problem. It's all washable, which I do wash if it is needed. I like it because I prefer to see the dirt on the furniture. Glad you would rent again and I would hope you would reach out to me with any problem or concern. Happy to offer you a discount on your next stay.
Girls Trip 2019
We chose this property due to its location, online photos and reviews. It did not disappoint in any way! The property is located in a quiet, charming neighborhood and close to Audubon Park. We enjoyed walking along St Charles Ave which is just a few blocks away. The property was just as described- clean, charming and included modern updates. We absolutely loved the back porch area for morning coffee or afternoon relaxing. The property gave us quick access to the restaurants and shopping on Magazine Street and has a Whole Foods right around the corner. The property is just a quick 15 minute Uber or car ride to the French Quarter.
We loved this home! Everything was perfect, and amazing location Uptown. Walking distance to Whole Foods and District Donuts. Perfect house for for parents weekend.
I strongly recommend this property
This neighborhood is completely walkable to everything a visitor would want to do. Restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, ice cream, Audubon Park and Zoo, tennis, golfing, Tulane and Loyola Universities, and the famous streetcar. The Magazine Street bus is a block away which takes you all the way into the French Quarter.
