Why Janet Sherwood chose West Seattle
We love Alki Beach, spring, summer, winter and fall!
What makes this House unique
Nothing compares to morning coffee on the beach at low tide. Love the sounds of fog horns and seagulls. Best place to enjoy the uniqueness of Seattle.

This home is exactly as described. Janet was a wonderful host and you simply can't beat this location! We utilized the sand toys and wagon and played daily at the beach. The pull out couch was comfortable too. Such a cute little gem!
Less than a block from the water. Beach supplies provided by owner in the large mud-room. Everything was clean and comfortable upon arrival. Owner didn't require any laundry or cleaning be done by us prior to vacating. Great communication from owner. Overall excellent experience.
Lovely house, wonderful hosts, loved the little garden and sitting space. Everything about this place is perfect.
Hidden Gem in Seattle!
My wife and I stayed in this property over part of the Labor Day weekend. We were in town for some sightseeing before heading down to the Gorge for a concert.
Property was exactly as described. Very clean and roomy for my wife and I. Janet goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is everything it should be. The quick tour through the home and showing us all the ins and outs of the property is something you don't get everyday. And for frequent travelers, like my wife and I, it's a nice touch. The property is in the Alki Beach neighborhood in West Seattle. Great restaurants all within walking distance. If your looking for pizza, mexican, seafood, this neighborhood has it. Want to head down to the beach for a nice AM stroll and then breakfast...this has it. Donuts? Check! Coffee? Check. And still only a 10-15 minute Uber/Lyft ride into downtown Seattle!
We didn't get to take it,but the Seattle Water Taxi is nearby which makes getting into town easy as well. If you prefer the bus, there is a stop nearby. There are also plenty of JUMP bikes and eLime bikes as well for you to use.
My wife and I are light packers, so having a washer and dryer for use is a huge plus. Obviously a full kitchen it always helpful as well. The outdoor grill and patio make for a nice evening if that's more your speed. If you want to spend a day at the beach, Janet has everything you need from wagon, towels, etc.
Since we were in town during the summer, the fireplace didn't get any use, but I could see that would be a huge plus in the fall and winter!
If you are looking for a place to stay that is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still being within a quick drive to the city this is your spot. We will definitely consider this spot again should we make the trip to Seattle.
Close to shops and transit. House was stocked with everything from sand toys to books and coffee!!! Cute little house, we will defiantly stay here again next time we visit the area!!
What a GREAT spot!
If you have a small family and a desire for the BEST location in West Seattle, this is the place for you! (I hate to leave such a good review, because we want to go back to the Alki House again without competition!) Janet has this place as clean and as easy to use as you can imagine. If you are in the area, you GOTTA stay there.
