The Tinos house was built below the most beautiful village, Triandaros, ten minutes by car from the ferry, town and from beaches. It is traditional Greek and European modern at once, with sweeping views of the sea and villages. There is a main house, with four bedrooms, three baths, and a guest house with one large room that has a living area, bedroom, kitchen bath with deck, views.
It is down ancient stairs from the village, about three flights from the car park. It is one of the few houses in TInos that has total privacy, it cannot be seen or heard from another house, it is a perfect retreat, or private getaway. It is in a pristine natural valley with trees, shelves of olive trees and gardens. From the house you see only nature and the sea.
The main house is architecturally beautiful, with dramatic terraces, secret shaded arbors, and maintained gardens. It is totally private and cannot be seen or heard from another nearby house which is rare in Tins or any of the Greek Islands.
The main house has a master bedroom suite, double bed and a marble bath with a terrace view and full kitchen upstairs and an apartment with two bedrooms downstairs, double bed, 3/4 bed, another kitchen, with private terrace and bath, the 3/4 bed is in a separate bedroom connected to the main room with no door between. There is also a guest bedroom, studio with a double bed, and with private bath on its own private terrace.
All bedrooms have total privacy. Each is separate with its own door, patio and bathroom. It is not best for very young children who need their own connecting bedrooms but offers unusual privacy for several couples or for families with older children.
The guest house, two terraces above the main house, is a studio with one large room with a sleeping area, double bed, kitchen, dining area and bath in a rock wall. It is perfect for a couple or family with one child. (there is a single bed too) It is a perfect lovers retreat, like the main house it has total privacy, you cannot see or hear it from anywhere. Both houses are usually rented from May-October, so reservations in advance are highly recommended. It too, is down ancient stairs from the village, about two flights from the car park. It has total privacy, sun, views, and is in nature.
The main house and guest house can be rented together or separately. If you are a couple and want a low budget vacation, the guest house is perfect. If you want an expansive dramatic villa, the main house is fabulous. If you are a family or several couples, you can rent both and sleep eight to ten people.
Minimum rental one week. Less with cleaning fees added.
My husband and I stayed in the Guest House for a week during mid-May. It was perfect. Its charming, large room is wonderfully arranged and contained everything we needed; a living space with a desk for writing and dining and a comfortable couch (which could become a single bed) for evening reading, a kitchen area with everything we needed to prepare simple meals, a comfortable double bed and a wonderful stone grotto which served as the bathing area. In addition, we enjoyed breakfasts on the patio overlooking the sea and the valley below while we listened to the bells from the village above. The Guest House is completely private and its atmosphere and surroundings promote calm and serenity. It is also a great place to begin exploring the island, which is unspoiled by a crush of tourists. We explored its charming villages, visited its beaches and hiked its hills. This is a unique place and a perfect place to go to to rejuvenate.
I stayed at the Villa for 2 weeks and it was breath-takingly beautiful. Everything I needed and wanted was here--exquisite decor and furnishings and the views are so so beautiful. Kind of like being in an Italian Villila in Greece! The owner is so helpful and it was a perfect place to stay...so many options too for this property with the separate guest house above, the main house, and then another guest room completely private from the main house. I loved it! Tarron EStes
We stayed at the Tinos villa for our honeymoon and loved it! The house was well equipped and very private. The views are amazing! The caretaker of the home is very helpful and responsive. We loved the island of Tinos ! Not too touristy - we did tons of hiking and eating at amazing tavernas. We food was to die for! We also went to bakeries, butchers and grocery and cooked at home in the large kitchen. The house allows you to relax and have access to all different parts of the island. Renting a car was easy and economical.
This was my first trip to Greece and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay to experience it's love, beauty, peaceful and relaxing environment. We were met at the ferry and were graciously taken to this amazing retreat home. There were 4 of us one couple and 2 singles. It was so easy to have complete private space or be together cooking in gourmet kitchen. Fabulous beaches just a quick trip away and then to the quaint little town for eating and shopping. My favorite part was all the fresh fruit trees and picking mulberries for breakfast every morning. I will definitely go back there for a vacation/retreat.
My husband and I stayed here for three weeks from mid June into July. The time was not nearly long enough! I could have stayed three more weeks. We spent a few nights in the main house and found it very comfortable with a bedroom suite looking out over the terraces on the other side of the valley. Gentle bleating of sheep, breezes and graceful birds just outside to keep you in touch with nature. I had a feeling of always being connected to nature because everything is so open but private at the same time. The upper guest house is very charming also. Laying in bed and looking out over the terraces and sea is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. The natural rock wall shower and bathroom are enchanting. Daily outings to the farmers market and different beaches are relaxing, with many tavernas to visit for lunch or dinner when we didn't feel like cooking. It's easy to cook many or all of your own meals but experiencing the local cuisine and culture is what traveling is about. We loved our vacation and look forward to returning.
I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Tinos Guest House for 3 weeks. I truly felt relaxed and rejuvenated during my stay. The view of the valley and the dovecote on property is stunning. It was a cozy stay for me and my boyfriend. His parents were staying in the main house below so we felt like we had our private time but could also hang out and cook with them. I thought we might get bored on this island, but every day there was something to do. We went to many different beaches, did morning yoga, surfed, hiked to a cave, visited the icon, saw Aphrodite's temple and went into town. You cannot get enough of this charming island. Also, if you're looking for a night scene there are some bars in town that are open late until the early morning.
We also had a 4-day excursion to Santorini and a weekend excursion to Mykonos to see a DJ. While those places were amazing, I loved coming back to my "home base" at the Tinos Guest House where you didn't have to deal with the hustle and bustle of those popular Greek tourist attractions. This is an island where you really get a feel and appreciation for the locals and their culture.
At the Guest House, I loved taking naps and waking up to seeing the ocean through the main blue door. You can even see a view of Delos and Mykonos on a clear day. The breeze was constant so you never felt hot. I also loved being able to read outside under a shaded terrace or sip house wine at the cute table for two. The Guest House also has it's own fridge and plates so we could keep our own snacks and drinks there if we didn't want to walk down to the main house. There are also plenty of restaurants to eat at for dinner or you can cook at home. The fruits and veggies don't have pesticides and you can just taste the "Greek flavor" while you're there. There's also a laundry machine at the main house, so you don't need to overpack. I had a huge suitcase we call "Big Bertha" that had to be carried down the stairs to the guest house (my poor boyfriend!) So next time I go, I will not subject him to that.
I just want to go back. It was the best vacation ever.
