Not as expected :(

We stayed for a week at the end of August 2016- 2 adults and one none year old child.

Firstly the positives:

+ Communication: Communication with the owners was very good - all questions answered quickly and payment through the site was easy. The welcome from the agent was friendly and helpful.

+ Location: The location was as described. The bungalow is 15 mins walk to the lovely beach, 10 minutes to the main street with shops and restaurants and there is a big Carrefour supermarket around the corner.

+ The beds were very comfortable and there was ample storage

+ Kitchen: The kitchen is small but laid out well and easy to use for a family of 3.

+ The owners lent us their own BBQ after we requested one as part of the package

And the not-so-good:

- Toilet: The layout is of one main room - kitchen, dining and lounge - with 3 bedrooms, bathroom and toilet doors off. This means that the toilet door opens directly into the main kitchen / dining space. It doesn't have a window or expelair and so smells and sounds travel!

- State of repair: The property was renovated in 2014 so we were expecting everything to be working. However, some of the doors and windows do not open / close properly (heat and subsidence apparently) which made it harder to secure the property when we went out and hard to keep it cool in the heat. The conservatory doors do not lock at all so best not to leave anything out there.

2 of the plug sockets in the dining area had been blanked off so we couldn't use the vintage lamp. A third was not screwed into the wall and came away when we used it - this was fixed by the agent's husband as soon as we mentioned it. He also fixed the toilet door handle which was about to come off.

- Linens: We paid extra for linens but, despite texting the agent to that affect, there were insufficient linens when we arrived. She came at 8:10pm with the sheets and towels and we had to make our own beds. We wish we had taken our own as the linens were not great quality and one of the towels had brown stains.

- Shower: The shower could be amazing - such high water pressure! However, the way it has been fitted in the corner, it is impossible to use on anything other than a trickle as it shoots past you and floods the bathroom.

- Other niggles: No toilet roll so a shop-dash needed, crumbs under toaster, grease in the oven, lightbulbs missing, scary to pay large deposit when the property was obviously not in good repa

Owner's Response: Dear host Please find the comment in the following : - First, our property isn’t a bungalow but a beautiful house of 135 metre square at 15 mn walk of the beach - The kitchen is about 20 metres square. It is well equiped with new appliances (oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, nespresso coffee machine, mixer) and a lot of tablewar, saucepan, knife…) and famous french and german well trade - The person who welcome you didn’t know that the BBQ was rent because we didn’t told her. We are sorry about that. She gave us a call and then it was available and free of charge in an hour the day of your arrival. - The toilet is well ventiled with mecanical extraction in the roof. The door is not in front of the oposite kitchen and dining area. Concerning sounds and smells, door was available to be closed and air fresherner available to you - The property has been renovated in 2014, all equipement are new. One windows close hardly because of the drought. But the house is absoluteky safe and secured, all windows and doors close. - The conservatory doors do not lock, it is an garden area, your personnal effect had to be in the house, better than ouside. - One plug was damaged by the previous host and we didn’t see it. It is now repaired. All the others were technically ok. - The toilet door handle is loose, but say that it was to come off is absolutely false. - All the linen were available : Bed were not prepared because the welcome person didn’t know if you want to sleep in single or double bed. We asked you before your arrival but you didn’t reply. You have found 2 towels , 1 washcloth and 1 courtesy towel per person in each bedroom. All is new, clean, controlled and best quality. Brown stains is certainly because of your use for several days. - Shower can be regulated with high or low pressure. Just turn it right or left like all shower. If you had give us a call, we could have explain it. - Toilet roll is not included in the rent. If you had give us a call we could have arrange it. - All the appliance are cleaned and controled before the host arrival by our care taker : All light were technically ok when you arrived, oven was cleaned, toaster as well. We have absolutely confidance with her. She is kind, clean and do her best for host. - Lastly, the amount of deposit was annouced in the advertissement, not a surprise. It has been totally refunded at your departure. We are surprised of your evaluation about your stay because we are doing

Long WE à la Baule

Quel bel endroit ! Nous avons passé un WE reposant, en famille, dans un petit havre de paix. Pas très loin du centre ville, mais suffisamment excentré pour que le calme domine. Entre l'espace très agréable de la maison, et l'aménagement du jardin, où il fait bon prolonger (à l'excès !) les soirées d'été, le cadre est tout simplement somptueux. L'aménagement est réalisé avec goût et la décoration est cosy. La cuisine est fonctionnelle et ouverte sur cette grande pièce logeant salon et salle à manger. Une maison donc en très bon état, rénovée avec goût, et très agréable. A faire et refaire sans modération.

Familière et excellente

Une maison très agréable et spacieuse, idéal pour passer le vacances avec la famille ou les amis. La cuisine et la salle de bain sont très moderne. L'eau puor prendre la douche est toujours chaude et les chambres sont bien chauffées, donc il n'y a pas de problèmes si vous voulez passer quelques semaines pendant l'hiver. Dans le jardin, on peut jouer, lire, faire jardinage, se reposer...tous ce que vous voulez.

Una casa molto piacevole e spaziosa, ideale per passare le vacanze contatto famiglia o gli amici. La cucina e il bagno sono molto moderne.L'acqua della doccia è sempre calda e le camere da letto sono ben riscaldate, quindi non ci sono problemi se volete trascorrere qualche settimana durante l'inverno. Nel giardino, si può giocare, leggere, fare giardinaggio, riposarsi...tutto quello che vi va.

Rien à dire au 1er abord la surprise n'a pas tardé

Je ne voudrai pas mettre d'étoile à cette location. C'est une maison qui n'était en état d'être louée à cause d'un dysfonctionnement important dans l'ouverture et la fermeture de la porte d'entrée et de la porte fenêtre qui affecte la sécurité des personnes et des biens. Je suis resté 22 h dans les lieux et depuis je suis en litige avec le bailleur. J'adhère pour une part importante aux appréciations d'un locataire qui est passé courant août qui a mis,une note de 2 sur 5

Owner's Response: Cher hôte, Voici nos commentaires sur votre évaluation qui mérite d'être expliquée. Suite à votre interrogation sur la porte d'entrée qui vous semblait difficile à ouvrir le lendemain de votre arrivée, nous nous sommes déplacés sous 1h et avons constaté puis vérifié en votre présence que cette porte ainsi que toutes les autres portes et fenêtres de la Villa s'ouvraient correctement, jardin compris. Nous avons identifié que la poignée de la porte d'entrée était en premier lieu un peu dure à l'ouverture, et que suite à une dizaine d'essais avec vous, ce n'était plus le cas. Malgré cela, vous avez fait un point d'honneur à vouloir partir sur le champs. Nous avons respecté votre souhait bien que nous ne l'avons pas compris et avons été conciliant malgré votre attitude capricieuse, exécrable et hautaine. Nous attachons une attention particulière à la sécurité des bien et des personnes dans notre location, l'ensemble des portes et fenêtres sont équipées d'une serrure de sureté et la porte d'entrée d'une serrure 5 points. Elles sont contrôlées avant chaque location. Il arrive que certaines baies soient un peu difficiles compte tenu des forts écarts de température dans la région. Nous y remédions dans les meilleurs délais pour ne pas impacter le séjour de nos hôtes qui nous laissent de bonnes évaluations et qui nous aident à améliorer notre Villa. Suite à la remarque de nos hôtes aoutien, nous avons fait régler la crémone d'une des fenêtres. Celle ci ne vous a posé aucun souci de manœuvre. Pour rassurer votre légitimité après votre départ en coup de théâtre, vous avez ouvert un litige auprès d'Abritel en organisant un amalgame entre votre sujet et celui des hôtes aoutiens. Abritel n'a naturellement pas donné suite à votre argument concernant un problème de sécurité compte tenu de vos déclarations inexactes et de la notoriété de notre location. Conscient que la manœuvre de la crémone devait être plus aisé pour nos futurs hôtes, nous avons procédé à son réglage par un menuisier. Elle fonctionne aujourd'hui correctement. Nous regrettons que vous ayez choisi de séjourner ainsi car comme vous le dîtes, il n'y avait rien à dire sur notre location. Vous avez passez vos nerfs sur vos hôtes alors que leur seul souhait était de vous satisfaire. Voici la surprise pour notre accueil....elle n'a effectivement pas tardée. Audrey et Mériadec

Maison agréable et bien entretenue. Accueil sympathique. Nous avons apprécié la proximité de la plage et de toute les commodités. Je recommanderais sans problème à un ami. Idéal pour une famille avec des enfants.
