Worst gite we have ever stayed in and very unwelcoming
What a sad little cottage with a garden full of nettles and weeds which was completely overlooked. Inside there was a very cold appearance with grey painted furniture in every room and minimal decor. There was rubbish still loose in the bin when we arrived and thus we were not surprised by the presence of cockroaches crawling around the Kitchen. It was the worst equipped gite ever in all
our gite stays- eg kitchen had no tea towels, kitchen sponges or even one bin bag to get us started and no drinking glasses. House had several broken fixtures e.g wall lights x 2, side lights x 3 and 2 door handles. And if you have a child don't go -the stairs are a slippery death trap and there are absolutely no provisions made for little people + Nil to do or eat off re crockery. And more importantly outside there is a lean to building which is very precarious. As for adults you would expect a information folder about the gite and the local area but no not here. The thing that annoyed us the most was the lack of help with arrival information and directions. This chateau was really hard to find even with a sat nav. When we phoned for directions we found the host very unhelpful and frustrating. It was not our fault that her chateau had no name and was not known to the locals who we asked as well. When we arrived we were asked for a deposit which had not been mentioned and our leaving arrangements - which had to fit in with the host. The host spoke hardly any English and was not welcoming. If it weren't for all of the above we would have had a nice time as the gite is in a good location. (The chateau itself has no garden which you are welcome to see and has many outbuildings which have been sold off / are in disrepair- a sad thing to see.)
lovely place out in the sticks so peaceful accommodation very good we will go back again
Great location at unique chateau!
This was a fun place to stay while we toured the Normandy beaches. The place is better than advertised with two showers and two toilets in separate rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The Normandy beaches were a close drive and Bayeux is close enough to get groceries.
Véronique asked for a deposit when we arrived which we weren't expecting and the kitchen was not well stocked and we like to cook meals when we travel.
Overall, a very nice stay for two couples!
mooi huis, mooi ligging
Mooi huis, mooie ligging, goed onderhouden. Complete inrichting. rustig gelegen. Prima verblijf voor een leuke vakantie.
Paris, take the A13 towards Caen, Caen was take the N13 towards Bayeux / Cherbourg, exit Loucelles, direction of Coulombs after Coulombs towards Saint Gabriel in St. Gabriel, turn left, then first right and then on the left take the stalemate leading to the castle.
