We had a very precious time in Big Canoe. Staying in "Paradise" lives up to the name. Your home was perfect for our family and also on Sunday when we hosted an after the wedding brunch. The rain on Saturday was timed perfectly and made the special day a bit dreamy and the golfers got in 0 holes in sunshine. Thank you for sharing your blessings with others.
It's hard to please 14 women, but our tennis team stayed at the beautiful house for what will hopefully be our annual end-of-season retreat... and each and every one of us was thrilled with the place. The minute we entered the circular foyer, we were in awe of the amazing lighted Christmas tree. It was cold outside, but warm inside as someone warmed the home for us with heat and lights on all of the Christmas decorations before our arrival. So many charming details-- too many to name. The kitchen was well-equipped and we were very close to the tennis courts (1.7 miles away and some of us even walked.) We loved it and we will hopefully be back next year!
This is a beautiful property and perfect for our large family gathering. The views are magnificent and we enjoyed hiking as well as using the canoe. However, I could not rate this a "5" for the following reasons: (1) the outdoor grill needs to be replaced asap as it is a fire hazard. Only 2 of the 4 burners work because of severe rust on the gas lines. We did use it but half way through , fire started to come out of the back of the grill, again because of the rust. (2) There were no adult size pool cues and most of the child size cues did not have tips. Also the rack was broken. (3) The TV in the living room (main floor) had very very poor reception.
All of these issues could be easily fixed/repaired and then this would certainly be a 5 rated property.
We stayed here for our staff retreat, and had 13 in the house. It was a great house, with plenty of space to spread out. Comfortable and a great location. Beautiful!
Everything was perfect! All we had to bring was food. We enjoyed coffee by day and wine by night, all with exquisite views. The owner is exceedingly helpful and responsive, though we did have some trouble getting through the gate (names that were on the list were not in the gate's database); however, the owner quickly resolved all name issues. We will definitely return!
I rented the place for a long weekend get away with 12 of my long time friends. Could not have asked for a better place. The house is beautiful, clean, well stocked and very inviting. Plenty of room for all of us to gather in the kitchen while food is being prepared and then relaxing on the back porch overlooking a stunning view. Plenty of hiking trails and a fun ride to the lower and then upper waterfalls (4X4 Required). If you like seeing nature at its finest..... Come to Big Canoe. Deer are everywhere with an occasional Bear sighting. Thanks for the memories. We will be back.
We had a great weekend in this fabulous house! The house was very clean and well stocked for our every need. We used the canoe that was provided with the house for fishing and just enjoying the lake. There was plenty of beds for our group of 15. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Big Canoe is nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. Our property is on the largest lake in Big Canoe, Lake Petit, and is surrounded by mountains, magnificent trees and lush foliage. Wildlife abounds in Big Canoe. Sit on the deck overlooking the lake and watch the deer wander through the yard or the occasional flock of wild turkeys, as well as, the usual squirrels, chipmunks and birds.
