About Mary Kay James

I grew up in Lincoln with my 7 siblings and grandparents in this home. Upon retirement, our parents decided to turn it over to their children so we could continue to enjoy and build memories with our own families. We have enjoyed our home over the years and continue to return each summer.

Mary Kay James purchased this house in 1920

Why Mary Kay James chose Lincoln

Prior to our ownership, the local physician lived here and operated his practice out of the section of the home which is now a separate apartment. Because of all the great memories we had being raised here in Lincoln, we wanted to keep it in the family so that our children could experience some of what made our growing up years so memorable. We still use the home often and always looks forward to coming home.

What makes this house unique

Has a 'homey' feel. Lots of backyard space for kids to enjoy...and toys for inside play. Walking distance to everything. Feeling of safety in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Close to all the White Mountain attractions, including great restaurants, theatre, local swimming holes, mini-golf, skiing, night life at the Woodstock Station, and lots more. Perfect home for groups to share.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We, along with another family, had the pleasure of renting this beautiful Lincoln property from Jan through March 2013. We easily housed 4 adults and three boys in this spacious house. It became our home away from home every weekend. We couldn’t wait to get to Lincoln every Friday night, and being located less than 5 minutes from Loon Mountain made skiing a delight. The kitchen had everything we needed to make Saturday night meals a wonderful après ski experience. The owners are wonderful and quickly responded to every request. Thank you for giving us the ski experience of a lifetime. We loved it!

Location, Comfort, Clean, Plenty of Room

  • 5 of 5

When I rate a place I stay at, I think of Location, Comfort, Cleanliness, Character, Space and Value. This wonderful property exceeded expectations in all categories. Just 5 min from Loon and down the road from plenty of restaurants and services. The house was impeccably clean and had plenty of space for everyone. We had 4 teenagers with us so the top floor bedroom loft worked out perfectly and provided some welcomed separation for the adults. We loved the character of the house - all of the family pictures and old school comfort - the beds were very comfortable as well. We were greeted by a plate of yummy cookies and wine - such a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this house, especially to multiple families or couples looking for a relaxing ski weekend away.

Close. Convenient & Roomy

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house for our annual ladies ski trip on St. Patrick's Day weekend. The pictures don't do it justice! A well cared for family home with plenty of room, very comfortable. Very convenient location to Loon, downtown Lincoln and not far to Woodstock. Easy access to 93. We had a great time and would highly recommend it.

There's No Place Like Home

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect home for a three family ski trip. From the moment we booked this was a great experience. We had to reschedule earlier in the year due to the extreme cold, and the owners were accommodating, and easy to work with. From the moment we stepped through the door, it felt like home. There was a wonderful welcome letter from the owners, which set the stage for an amazing weekend. The home is very large, and clean. We had everything that we could possible need. The bedrooms are very large, and plenty of room for 3 families to share. There is a huge amount of family history in the home, which we enjoyed very much. We would highly recommend this home to other families.

Great Location, Plenty of Space

  • 5 of 5

The house was great, very nostalgic and plenty of space. We had 10 Adults sleeping comfortably. The owners were dog friendly as one of the couples were allowed to bring their fur baby on the trip. The house was clean and the owners were nice enough to leave us a bottle of wine and cookies as a welcome.

The location of this house is on point. It is off the main road, but is literally down the road from Loon Ski Mountain and minutes away from the highway. The house itself is great but the location is the best thing, especially if you plan on a ski weekend at Loon.

Great house overall, would definitely consider renting again in the future.

Our property is located in the heart of the White Mountains, in Lincoln, New Hampshire. This is a beautiful, little town with the main winter attraction being skiing and snowboarding and hiking/swimming throughout the rest of the year. We are located approximately 2 miles from Loon Mtn., and about 15 minutes from Cannon Mtn. in Franconia. The property is located within walking distance of local restaurants, shopping, hiking trails, swimming, and theatre. Quiet, residential neighborhood on the prettiest street in town. Several very nice restaurants in the area. Local taverns feature evening entertainment during tourist season.
