Rest was great
My family and I stayed a week in August with our dog. The house is very charming and very close to the lake. The lake was amazing! Clean and refreshing! We kayaked, fished and swam everyday! The area was breathtaking. A family of loons live there, it was cool to hear them and see them all the time. On our last day, we saw a bald eagle.
The only thing that was a surprise to us was we had to share the beach with the neighbors next door. It is a beautiful sandy beach but small for two large families who don’t know each other. Even though the location was very private, having the neighbors next door be so close wasn’t private feeling.
All in all, we had a nice week and the owner Thomas was quick to respond and very helpful.
We very much enjoyed our time here. The view was beautiful on a snowy winter day, it must be stunning in the summer and fall. We stayed over a few very, very cold nights in Feb and the house had a hard time heating up on its own. The owner was well prepared having three space heaters that got the job done. The fireplace helped too. The owner was very accommodating and communicated promptly. We were close to town and skiing. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel, this is not a place for you. If you enjoy a cozy, quiet, secluded cabin that certainly holds many special memories tucked in the woods with great views, starry nights, and beautiful sunrises, you will love it here. I only wish we were here when the loons are around, they must sound amazing.
