About David

Currently working on two other Vacation Properties - a Shakespeare Cottage in Lake Arrowhead and a 1934 Cowboy Ranch in Palm Springs. Hope to have them up and ready to rent by Winter 2016.

David purchased this cabin in 2005

Why David chose Gold Country / High Sierra

A-Frames are the perfect mountain retreat and you can't beat the location - 1/3 mile to the new Village shops, restaurants and Gondola. Surrounded by empty lots for peace and quiet.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi David,I just wanted Thank You so much for letting us use your house. The both of us absolutely loved it! The location was great, but quiet too, and the inside was so cozy. My boyfriend who has been coming to Mammoth for over 25 years said that your house tops the list for his favorite place to stay. Needless to say, I was hoping we could get some information on your rental rates for the summer and winter seasons. We were hoping to make it back up there this summer some time, and would love to stay at your place if possible. I also wondered if I could have your home address.Thank You,Laura B.

We've stayed in the A-Frame cabin during the winter and now the spring, and both times it was the perfect vacation! The location is ideal, walking distance to the village as well as the shops on Main street - and the house itself was great for our entire family. Wireless reception was perfect, clients didn't even know I was away from the office; accomodations are comfy yet modern; the hot tub was amazing after a long day on the slopes, and best of all - it was a relaxing vacation (both times), even with two kids under the age of 4 - which is saying A LOT!

We'll be back - for sure!

This cabin was warm and cozy. Perfect family retreat. Great location, close to the village and grocery store. Everything was clean and in working order. We will definitely be staying there again and I would highly recommend it to friends and family. Can't wait to go back!!

Great stay...

  • 5 of 5

I spent many hours researching places to stay for this birthday celebration weekend and after brief email communications with David (owner), we opted to stay at his home. What a GREAT decision!!! The listing was accurate and David provided amazing customer service. The location is perfect for walking to the village (5 minute walk in the snow) We had two couples and two small dogs....plenty of room for all. The jacuzzi was a perfect end to the day as we watched the sun set into the trees. I would recommend this location to everyone and when we come up again in December.....this is definitely the place we want to stay.

Wonderful Find

  • 5 of 5

It was our first visit to Mammoth Lakes and we spent a week there in June and we couldnt have found a more perfect place. The cabin was cosy but not too small and it had loads of character. It was spotless and there were enough facilities to make you feel right at home. The decking, hot-tub and BBQ are great, especially with a glass of wine looking up at the stars. It does take quite a while for the hot-tub to warm up though! Its a short walk to the local shops and restaurants. We loved the chilli cheese bread and dipping oil from the local bakery. Even during the "low" season there are plenty of lovely walks to do around Mammoth Lakes and the people at the tourist info centre were very helpful with advice and suggestions of what to do and where to go.

A perfect retreat in a lovely town but dont tell everyone because we want to keep it our little secret :)

Owner's Response: The hot tub had just been emptied and refilled when these guests arrived. It can take up to 12 hours to heat the hot tub when filled with fresh water. This service should have been completed a day or so before the guest's arrival. In the future tub filling will be coordinated with guest arrivals so there is no down time for hot tub use. We appreciate our UK travelers and are glad they had a great time in Mammoth!

Cool funky A-frame cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a really cool, soulful cabin that has a great location. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded, but close to everything. We loved the decor and the hot tub under the stars at night was great. The deck is a great place to hang out and the gas grill was excellent We even had a nice bear that made the rounds every night to remind us that we were in the Sierras. This place has everything you could want in a vacation rental and we highly recommend it.

Great summer escape

  • 5 of 5

An amazing centrally located cabin.

The property manager is very nice and helpful.

The cabin was very clean, the kitchen fully equipped, with even a great selection of books to read. The owner was easy to work with and very helpful.

Looking forward for my next stay..
