We loved this place! Wonderful views and not for from anywhere. Leaving Saturday and we have been to different places each day. Cabin is located in Stecoah, I found the name of the mountain is Scaly mountain, centrally located. Beds are comfortable. A/C, heat or fireplace. Only need to get any supplies for your stay. We got mostly grilling items. Grill was great, my husband really enjoyed it. Fishing, boating, sightseeing, swimming, kayaking, white water rafting, Cherokee reservation is great everyone should go to the Cherokee museum, hiking, all the things you would love to do. Next week, leaves will be changing. Locals are super nice. Would definitely come again. North Carolina is a beautiful state. Just wish I could get back to Florida and not go thru Atlanta!!! Very steep drive but driveable.
We had a wonderful time at Eagles nest 2 rest, peaceful and quite and very private atop the Smokey mountains. They are located in a great location not far from two lakes you can rent a boat enjoy the day on the water. You can visit Gatlinburg, the Smokey Mountain national forest
between Cherokee and Gatlinburg has many hiking trails great to view animals in the wild we saw Elk, black bear, turkey's, and deer. The cabin
had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable perfect for six people. They left you web site's of things to do and see in the area.
The owners called to make sure we had no troubles or problems with the place or if we had any questions. A great place to get away from the
daily grind for relaxing family vacation I would recommend this to all my friends and family and at the price its a winner.
Some concern for dry rot on deck and the back stairs. Overall good experience but be aware that when someone takes a shower or uses the upstairs bathroom. Sounds like Niagara Falls ! Also 2 rooms with good beds but bunks uncomfortable and I chose to sleep on the futon. View was lovely and very quiet secluded.
The house is very comfortable and perfect for a vacation get away for family and friends. The two levels with nice TV's helped mom watch Olympics while dad and son watched survivors shows. The homes location is somewhat remote so you will need to buy food supplies while you are in Bryson however the house is stocked with everything else needed for your stay. The view from the back deck is very nice when the sun reflects of the mountains nearby. The drive up to the house can be intimidating but well worth it.
We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend the home.
It felt like a home away from home, the love they put in their house is definitely an ambiance that you can feel. The amount of care put into the house is incredible and the owners took great care to provide everything we possibly could have needed down to a bag of possibly-forgotten toiletries, a pitcher for lemonade, and an incredibly well stocked kitchen. I truly enjoyed my stay.
Our family vacationed here for 5 days and loved every minute of it. The cabin is tastefully furnished and accommodated our family beautifully. The driveway is quite steep in parts, but our vehicle made it every time without incident. The owner called while we were there to make sure that we were o.k. and asked if there was anything we needed, and gave us some suggestions for their favorite places to eat. The cabin is nestled in the Smoky Mountains with a beautiful view and located such that we were able to access the entire national park area and surrounding Tennessee with no more than 2 1/2 hours drive. Our visit to Lake Fontana was wonderful, as were our hikes, and whitewater rafting. A beautiful area of the country which we fully plan on visiting again.
Centrally located to: Fontana Village, White Water Rafting, Trout Fishing, 4-wheeling, Boat Rentals, Great Smoky Mountain Railway, National Parks, Appalachian Trail, Nantahala River, Fontana Dam, Joyce Kilmer National Forest, Cherohala Skyway, Lake Santeeliah, Cherokee and Tsali Recreation.
We are equal distance between Bryson City and downtown Robbinsviile.
