This charming home is located on a large corner lot with citrus fruit trees, a fenced-in backyard off the screened lanai and a new 26' screened-in, front porch. Newly renovated and furnished in 2009, there are cool tile floors throughout and ceiling fans in every room.
The master bedroom was turned into a suite by adding 60 square feet, a huge walk-in closet and a beautiful master bathroom with a convenient laundry closet. The Master Suite is separated from the other bedrooms for privacy.
In March of 2016 the decor was updated throughout the house. Old furniture was replaced with some new pieces, the kitchen cabinets were painted a lush blue, the range hood was replaced and a new dishwasher was installed. There is a new propane grill and the landscaping has been spruced up.
The sandy beach on quiet Boca Ciega Bay is a five block walk through the historic part of Gulfport. Restaurants and small shops create a friendly, small town atmosphere. The small Gulfport Museum, located in an older home, and a park with tennis courts are across the street. The library and community art theater are three blocks away. Gulfport is the ideal place to enjoy peace and quiet just minutes from downtown St. Petersburg with all its museums, nightlife, restaurants and shopping. The Tampa airport is a 25 minute drive. The Gulf beaches, like St. Pete Beach, are only a short 15 minute drive.
Gulfport, originally a small fishing community, has become an integral part of St. Petersburg's art scene. A number of artists and musicians from around the country have created neighborhoods with colorfully painted homes and interesting yard art. An artwalk is held twice a month.
One of old Gulfport's most charming features is the Casino. It is located on the beach and is a venue for nightly dancing and weekly dance lessons. People of all ages gather for the lessons in Latin or ballroom dancing or just to watch others on the dance floor. On Sunday afternoons a group of Italians play bocci and dance in the Pavilion on the waterfront.

"I am eagerly looking forward to a future visit to your lovely house in Gulfport, especially as I sit here in a winter sweater watching the rain for the third straight day." April 26, 2010
We stayed here for the month of April 2015 and loved it. This is a spacious home with 2 full bathrooms (rare in Gulfport), and it's dog friendly. You simply can't go wrong renting this beautifully landscaped charming home.
Here's why it's such a primo location:
* a short stroll to Beach Blvd with restaurants, shops, art galleries, the historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom, the pier, beach, and more.
Beach Blvd has a weekly Fresh Market, Art Walk 2x/month, live music, and many events.
* 1-2 blocks to the Gulfport Library, tennis courts, dog park.
* walk to the marina in 20 minutes or less.
* bus stop for an easy jaunt to downtown St. Petersburg.
* quick drive to beautiful St. Pete Beach.
* not far to Publix, drug stores, etc.
We liked the walkable location and friendly little Gulfport so much that within 2 weeks we bought a home right around the corner.
You will enjoy the large screened front porch, rain or shine. It's private and a comfy, relaxing place to watch the world go by.
The owner is pleasant, helpful, and nice to deal with. It's easy to rate at 5 stars.
We stayed 4 weeks in this nice house when we adopted our little son. It was a very emotional period and having a place like this really felt like home. The nice veranda with the typical smell of old wood did comfort us very much. Having squirrels as neighbours is very cosy. The neighbourhood is quiet however all that is needed is just a few minutes away. A daily walk to the beach makes the stay complete. There were some issues with the wifi at first but these were solved within a day.
My daughter is an attorney in the area and we visit here quite often. We have been so pleased with this house. The layout is perfect for two families or a family with several children. The master suite has a large bedroom, great bathroom and a huge closet. The kitchen and common areas separate the master from the other bedrooms. The house is so well stocked, you only need your suitcase and toothbrush. Elizabeth was a super host. When we found a problem with the grill, she immediately ordered a new stainless grill and we had it the next day. The kitchen is completely stocked and open to the den which makes it perfect for the person cooking because they are not isolated from the group. We felt so at ease with our dogs here because the yard is totally fenced and the two porches are screened. They loved it! I cannot say enough about this house. It is the best!!
We rent in Gulfport, FL frequently with elderly family living in the Town Shores Complex, and this house was one of the best. It is spacious with quaint decor and within walking distance of everything. The house is extremely well-equipped. We cooked full Italian Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners for 15 people and we lacked nothing for either the preparation or the dinners. Our dogs had a great time, too! Thank you for a wonderful Christmas week!
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home within walking distance of the quaint downtown area of Gulfport. This is a very dog friendly city and our pet enjoyed eating out at one of the restaurants and playing in the dog park almost across the street from this home. The little church across the street was a pleasant bonus on Sunday morning - dress is casual and the congregation friendly. We did encounter one problem at the home but contacted the property manager who responded immediately. We would recommend this home to others and hope to return in the future.
I arrived late on a Friday night and Lana was willing to come out to meet me and show me around the house - which was a great little place. There were a few bulbs out etc, which were repaired the next day. Gulfport is a quaint little town with a great main street to wander up and down. My only real comments are that the internet did not work and the grill was out of gas which was part of the reason I wanted this particular house. Regardless it was a decent property in a good location and we a lot of fun down there.
