About Carol Hemesath
We are happy to share our home on the River and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Our favorite thing to do on a Sunday morning is to get a paper, grab breakfast and coffee and head up to Mt. Hosmer for a view of the River and some peaceful time in nature. We usually meet people from all over and enjoy talking with them. We will leave guest information in our home so you can select your own places of interest to visit.
Carol Hemesath purchased this House in 2007
Why Carol Hemesath chose Lansing
We have owned this home for many years. Our decision to share it with others came after we ourselves had used a home rental service and found it more enjoyable to rent a home than a hotel. We hope you find our home comfortable and easy to live in, we do!
What makes this House unique
A great feature of this home is the valley views. Overhead are the eagles and other birds of prey. At our bird feeders are smaller birds that are fun to feed and watch. If you are renting in the summer, you will see many hummers at the window feeders and the orioles fill want to have their jelly feeders filled!

Family gathering in Lansing
The location was great, on a quiet road, with a nice view. The house was nicely decorated, had plenty of seating. The porch was nice for sitting in the morning. The kitchen is well supplied. Really appreciated the R.O. water.
We would recommend this house.
Great home with two outside patios which was great for our group when it rained one night.
We had a great time.
Very very nice and clean, really enjoyed this place, loved to watch all the different birds in the morning while we had our morning coffee. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this beautiful home.
Cindy, thanks for choosing The Lansing House for your vacation! We enjoyed hosting you and welcome you back! Lansing is such a fun town to visit -- so many things to do, so many great restaurants, lots of fun shopping! Come back and enjoy more of what our little town has to offer!
My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay in Lansing. The house is very comfortable and very spacious. It’s a short walk to the river with a lovely view of the Bluffs. We enjoyed hiking in the nearby state forest and visiting Effigy Mounds, which is about a half hour away. This is such a beautiful part of the country! Carol was very responsive and easy to deal with.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Lansing House! I am glad that you were able to explore the area and when you come back, there is more to see! The fall is a beautiful time to stay when the leaves are changing and the apples are ready. It is only a short half hour drive to the orchards where you will find many varieties of apple and other fall vegetables. We enjoyed hosting you and look forward to your next visit!
Peaceful retreat in Lansing!
The Lansing House was the perfect get away. We enjoyed our stay as everything we needed was provided in this nice home. The beds were comfy. We loved the views from the porch. Carol was very responsive to all my questions and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed being cozy by the fireplace or soaking up the warmth in the sunroom! We look forward to coming back in the summer and spending time on the River.
