Sorry for the late response! I wanted to thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful home! It was the first time my family celebrated Christmas somewhere else besides my parents house in 28 years. Everyone was so pleased with the house and they are already talking about their next trip to Tahoe. Your house had everything we needed and things we didn't know we needed making my families trip so relaxing. My father owns a furniture store and wanted me to tell you that if you are ever in need he would love to trade furniture for another stay (fully understanding that it would exclude holidays). Again thank you so much for everything and thank you for waiving the dog fee, that was very sweet of you!!
Have a great day!!
Off the top the homeowners were great with any questions I had, and quick to respond. Very nice people. However there were some downsides. For one the house was not clean when my family and I arrived. Pet hair throughout the house, on couches, living room and the carpets. Very unpleasant, espically when you pay for cleaning fee. There was dust on the small furniture throughout the house and on the tv cabinet. We had to vacuum on the first day we got there, which was not a great start. Second major issue was the WIFI or lack thereof (1mb upload and download speed). There were dead spots throughout the house and if you get lucky and get a good WIFI signal then you can't afford to move or else your out of luck and back to looking for good signal. We rented the house for 5 nights and the last day and a half we had zero wifi. Could not use the smart tv or our phones to stream movies throughout our stay and ruined the fun when we are trying to stream music or movies because it's snowing outside, and things just don't work. Overall the house is behind its time. When you pay 2k plus you expect those simple things to be taken care of as I have rented over ten homes and none of them had issues suck as this home. Also little nagging things, for example it takes hours for the house to heat up, the toilets don't work well, the shower is "old school" as mentioned in bathroom in a picture frame that the homeowners put. and again goes back to the home being behind the times and lacks enjoyment when your constalibtly dealing with nagging issues.
We had the entire family (four couples and a child plus a couple four legged friends) come together for a snowy Thanksgiving trip to Lake Tahoe. Overall, everything was very clean and well-maintained. Bathrooms were stocked with extra towels (bath and hand) and shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. The master was absolutely perfect for the family of 3 with the young child to have their own bed to sleep in. Only one bathroom was shared and it was a very roomy one. The one bedroom with two twin beds has changed into a queen (not sure if it was just pushed together for us) but worked out perfectly as we are all couples and didn't need the twins. Everything worked perfectly...wifi, warm garage, and we certainly put the kitchen to good use. We made a huge feast for everyone. Kitchen is completely stocked with all the pots/pans/cutting boards/spices you could need. The backyard has a very new enclosed fence where we felt safe for the dogs to roam around in.
Loved the fact that there was a huge pile of firewood outside to use in the wood stove. We put that thing to good use!!
Thanks for an amazing time!
This was a perfect place to stay while I was in Tahoe with my brother and a friend. The house had a ton of room for us to spread out, a huge backyard with a hot tub, a big open kitchen and plenty of parking. It was clean and well taken care of, and when I forgot the code to get in and called the property owner, they immediately answered and helped. I'll definitely consider this property when I travel to Tahoe again, whether with friends or my family. Thanks again for letting us stay!
This was a great house for our family vacation. All the bedrooms had comfortable beds.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, whatever we needed. Also it
is in a good location, close to restaurants and hiking. Great back yard for pets.
We would recommend staying here.
Perfect location, very spacious and clean. Neighborhood was amazing, lots of wildlife bunnies and bears. Will visit this cabin again for sure!
The house was located in a quiet area (except for the nearby road construction) and adequately served all of our needs. The few minor problems were addressed and did not affect our stay. We were part of a large hiking group and the house was located quite near our chosen hikes. The fenced back yard gave us a sense of privacy and the jacuzzi was just what we needed after our hikes. For the most part we cooked in, although we did stop at a few restaurants after our hikes. Our favorite was Lake Tahoe Pizza. We would choose to stay there again if we ever get back to Lake Tahoe.
Hike, mountain bike, cross country ski, snow shoe, and much more with our trails that can be accesses at the end of our street, Tata Lane. No driving needed to recreate. Horseshoe pit in back yard.
