Classic Lake House with Hot Tub
Kick off your shoes at the house and walk barefoot down to the water. Put the sand between your toes at Twin Lake in Muskegon for a perfect vacation getaway. The water is so crisp you can skip a handful of rocks and still see to the sandy bottom!
The lake dips gradually, so kids can easily play in the shallow end. In the summer, sit at the outdoor fire pit and listen to the frogs sing. In the fall, stay warm by the fireplace and take in the autumn foliage. During any season, gaze up at the late night sky and point out constellations with the kids.
Bringing a larger crew? Ask about renting our second vacation rental nearby, The Beachfront Cottage, to sleep 10 more guests.
Inside the House . . . . (more information about the house)
The 3 BR, 2 BA home has two floors. The upper level includes the great room, dining area and fireplace. The recently renovated kitchen is ready for whatever you want to cook up. Eat at the circular glass table, or settle in at the barstools at the kitchen counter. (We also have a high chair, if you’re bringing a little one along.) Soak in some natural light from the large windows and glass doors.
On the upper level, snag the master bedroom before the kids get to it. Features:
•Down comforter (great for chilly evenings)
•Futon chair (junior twin) perfect for a toddler!
Also on the upper level:
•Second bedroom with twin/double bunk bed
•Updated full bathroom with soaking tub and shower
If you need more sleeping space for the kids, the futon chair in the master bedroom works as a small junior twin.
The lower level is great for young adults who are itching for privacy or space to just hang out. On rainy days, play some foosball, challenge each other to a board game, or dig into a new book. The downstairs features:
•Bedroom with queen bed
•Full bathroom and shower
•Home theatre with flat screen TV
•Extensive movie library
•Two Queen size Murphy Beds
Full house? We also have two twin hideaway beds downstairs, and another futon chair.
You’ll be super comfortable inside, but don’t forget the great outdoors waiting for you, including:
•Stellar fishing location on the dock
•Wrap-around deck with Adirondack deck chairs and patio set
•Therapuetic hot tub from May – October
•Outdoor shower to rinse off the sand
•20 ft. Pontoon boat available to rent
After a long day of hiking, relax your aching muscles in the hot tub. At dusk, the kids can run around the yard catching fireflies, as you watch the panoramic view of the sunset on the lake.
The secluded area is full of sandy beaches. The house is only 5 miles off of US 31, so you’re never too far from town. Michigan’s Adventure Amusement and Water Park is a leisurely 10-minute drive from the house. Other attractions include:
•Silver Lake Sand Dunes (30 miles)
•Grand Haven (22 miles)
•Blue Lake Fine Arts Center (5 miles)
•Michigan’s Adventure Amusement and Water Park (8 miles)

Welcome! We’re Kathy and Chuck Kircus, owners of Sandy Shores of Twin Lake. Until the economic downturn, we were both involved in the automotive industry. We’re hard workers, and we love Michigan, so we immediately started looking for a new opportunity. Usually some unexpected event is what makes you realize what’s most important to you. For us, it was spending time with our family, relaxing on our pontoon boat, taking in a crisp view of the night sky.
We knew that in Michigan, we could always find a new start. So, we used the money from our retirement and created Sandy Shores of Twin Lake, LLC. We purchased the cottage in 2005, and the house in 2007.
We understand the importance of family, a calm, relaxing vacation, and how a cozy atmosphere helps bring people together. Our properties aren’t just rentals. This place is home! My family takes an annual 10-day vacation together here ourselves. We adopted four special needs children and we experience our house and cottage with them, our parents, and our close friends.
Each year, we see these children grow as they make little sandcastles and chase fireflies in the yard. Our story started with some hardship and continues with great joy. A house and a cottage later, we’re still planning our vacations and deciding who brings the marshmallows and the graham crackers for s’mores around the bonfire.
In 2015 we celebrated our 10th anniversary as Sandy Shores of Twin Lake. It’s such a gift to us to see our guests making memories with their family and friends here, just like we have. We’d be happy for you to see why our family cherishes Western Michigan so much!
Sandy Shores of Twin Lake, LLC purchased this house in 2007

We stayed at this beautiful home during the Christmas Holiday. The home is more beautiful than the pictures online. We were very, very happy with our stay. A perfect 10!
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning on coming back and have been reccomending this place to our friends and family. Everythin you need is here. The lake is wonderful for children at every age. We had two families and plenty of space. The lake was so peaceful and my son discovered fishing! Cannot wait to return. Lots of things to de around the area too.
Our family of 4 enjoyed staying here at the end of March. It is definitely a quiet season for the town, but the house was a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas. And nothing can beat the view of the lake first thing in the morning!
Kathy made sure our stay was great, she provided us with lots of instructions as well as information on activities in the surrounding areas. The house also has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay.
Overall it was a wonderful break from city life and we look forward to visiting and renting this property again!
The property/home was all that the website said it was. Everything we needed was provided (except our food). The home, yard, & beach were very well kept. We enjoyed the pontoon boat, our wave runner, the paddle boats, and kayaks very much. The water was clear and clean. We had wonderful lakeside bonfires (& s'mores) almost every evening. Once it was dark there seemed like there were a million stars-beautiful. We felt very blessed to have found this property, the owner is very kind and gracious. We hope to be back next Summer!!
Our kids and family had a wonderful time, a great home away from home on a great little sandy lake! We'll be back again.
The home was very clean and beautiful. Everything was updated or new. Even down to the pots and pans that we used. We never felt that anything was dirty in the house. The hot tub was clean and well cared for. We used it a few times when it started raining on us in the lake. Rain only lasted for a short time. The swimming area was very nice. It was all sand very far out and shallow which worked great for my 2 year old! The lake is shallow with the deepest part being about 20ft. This was actually nice because the lake was very warm! All of us thoroughly enjoyed that! We used the paddle boat and kayaks almost daily. There were only a few things that we noticed about the rental. By the campfire ring there were a bunch of ant hills which later at night during the campfire, we all ended up getting bit up around our toes and ankles if we had flip flops on. The bites hurt differently than a bug bite. They ended up almost being little blisters and were painful. I did let the owner know and she said she would check into it. Also, we rented the pontoon which we used at least twice a day. The pontoon did not mirror the cleanliness of the house.... The pontoon was very dirty. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere. Mildew on the seats. My father spent a good hour sweeping and wiping off the pontoon so we could use it. I would suggest a good power wash.
Overall, I would highly recommend this rental. You won't be disappointed!
Our family had a wonderful time this week on Twin Lake. Thank you so much for making your rental property so perfect. Can't wait to schedule our stay for next year. The cottage house was everything and more! We love Twin Lake because it is so nice and sandy, shallow beach area for the kids and an all sports lake. The grandkiddos love paddling over to the island, they call it Pirates Island. Such a fun week, didn't want it to end.
