'De Hoedenmaker,' is an exceptional beautiful holiday house. It is located in the heart of Bruges. The facade is built in the traditional step-gable style that is typical of the finest Flemish houses. It is a charming and elegance house built in 1675. Located in the peaceful and quiet area of Saint Gilles quarter, about 400m north of the medieval port of the city and only a 10 minutes' walk to the Market Square and the Belfry tower. 'De Hoedenmaker' is a three-level house with a total of 110 square meters living area, completely renovated in 2003 and refurbisched in 2017.

The kitchen includes a full complement of cooking utensils and cutlery. One the 1st floor there are 2 separate bedrooms with a Queen bed in each. One of the Queens can be separated in two beds if necessary. On the 2nd floor, in connection with the master bedroom, there is a twin bed (full size single beds for adults). On the 1st floor there is a full bathroom and second toilet on the ground floor. Central heating. The house faces south and takes in plenty of sun year round. It also has a private walled-in terrrace and laundry room. In the living room you'll find cableTV, DVD, books, ... Fast WiFi is available for free.

Guests who want to visit Bruges will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the city. The house is situated in a very quiet historic part of Bruges. Great little house with character and charm - ideal for our family break.

We had a great time in Bruges whilst staying in this property. The facilities were good and Pascal was helpful. Grandparents, parents and young children all enjoyed the stay. Toys provided for the kids (5, 3 and 6 months) were particularly welcome. The kitchen was sufficient to prepare evening meals for 6 and the laundry room helped us to keep on top of the washing.

Only point to note if you are not a family is that the room with 2 single beds is accessed via the main bedroom and is on a kind of mezz floor. Great for us but maybe less so for 3 couples.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay - can recommend books & brunch and chez vincent for lunch times - the children loved the canals and the windmills and there is a small playground less than 5 mins away which was good fun.

Lovely, well-maintained historical building.

I have visited Brugge at least 14 times. In the early days we relied primarily on hotels. Over the years we have begun using apartments, including renovated buildings from the 17th Century. De Hoedenmaker is the best we have found. The modern interior was well executed and all of our 6 adults really liked the building, its interior and the location of the building in Brugge. It was a great home base for each of the 3 couples to go to different parts of Brugge, then to return for communal meals and meetings. The kitchen is well-equipped and we all enjoyed stepping out to the outdoor patio. The owner was a treasure trove of local information and history. I will be recommending it to friends.

This house was the perfect home away from home during our stay in Bruges. The owner Pascal went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more! Nicely furnished and secure. It is located just a short walk from everything yet out of the tourist hustle. Great local restaurants just steps away. I highly recommend De Hoedenmaker and hope to return one day soon.

A perfect pied à terre for a visit to Bruges

We had a lovely time in a most amazing house in the center of the old city of Bruges. It is in a perfect location: close to the centre of town yet quiet. Provided us with the feeling that we were locals which is exactly what we wanted. It was a beautiful well maintained home with very comfortable beds. Our family enjoyed the small outside terrace for our breakfasts.

Absolutely perfect home in Brugge!

Our host Pascal was superb! He welcomed us with chocolates and a very detailed explanation of the house. He had maps and suggestions of the area to show us upon arrival. The house was so cozy and relaxing, wonderful kitchen to cook in. Linens and beds very nice. The neighborhood was quiet but still close to the main square. We loved Brugge as a family with 2 teenagers. DId most of the museums, walked everywhere, met lovely local people, went on a nice bike tour and had the best meal of our life at Reliva!
