Friendly helpful owners, great neighbourhood, two bedrooms, separate shower

The great thing about this superb apartment is its location. Built in 1774, it is adjacent to the buzz of one of London’s “destination streets” (Upper Street), one minute from the underground (Victoria line), and on Highbury Fields, which London's colourful mayor, Boris Johnson calls 'the jewel of our borough, positively bursting with artistic and cultural delights' and where he plans to make good his new year's resolution to lose a stone. The apartment's proximity to the underground and its excellent connections, makes it the perfect place to come home to. Part of an historic Grade II listed terraced house, it has recently (February 2010) been completely re-decorated, and is modernised to a high standard. Our guests frequently comment on its attractive “feel” and many make return visits.

We are very happy to arrange a taxi from the airport if required.

The property consists of:: One double bedroom and one twin bedroom, both with 100 percent cotton sheets and wool blankets; living room with colour tv, freeview digital channels, DVD player, VHS, hi fi, sofa and sofa bed with duvet (sleeps two); modern kitchen fully equipped with washing machine, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker and gas hob, extractor hood, microwave, coffee machine and toaster, bathroom with separate shower.

Lovely location, great flat

Lovely flat in fantastic location, 2 minutes from tube. Very well equipped , the hairdryer with diffuser was especially welcomed by this curly haired guest! I would absolutely stay again.

Great, quiet location!

Our family of four (including two boys 12 & 15) just returned from a week in London and we stayed in this flat for 7 nights. We loved the location, a half a block from the tube station and steps from Upper Street with many restaurants and shops. Despite being in the thick of it all, the flat was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed touring all day and then returning to "our" neighborhood for dinner each night. It was nice to have two separate bedrooms and an additional sitting room. The kitchen was adequately stocked though we only used the coffee maker and the refrigerator. The wifi worked well and accommodated everyone's devices simultaneously. The stairs were not an issue for us but it is 3 flights up, the last one being tight. Would definitely recommend this location and flat!

Everything we expected!

We enjoyed a lovely stay in December 2015. It was very comfortable, spacious and clean. We especially enjoyed the full kitchen as we prepared holiday meals while there and we had everything we needed to be able to prepare gourmet dinners. The location was very nice, right on the park and very close to the tube and bus stops, making it very easy to get to and from the center of London. The owners were very kind, providing a nice welcoming holiday card and bottle of wine as well as information regarding the neighborhood. The price was extremely reasonable. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Well equipped apartment in a convenient location

We enjoyed our stay at this clean, light and well-equipped apartment, conveniently located two minutes from the Islington & Highbury tube station (which is just one stop from King's Cross St. Pancras). The place is as represented in the photos. I arrived before my family and Nigel was very kind in carrying my luggage up the stairs.

Some reviewers complained about the staircase. We didn't have an issue. The spirally narrow part was only just about 10 steps or so.

One little suggestion - a little shelf in the shower stall for shampoo and soap would be very helpful.

Great location, wonderful facility, well managed

This is a fully-equipped and perfectly maintained flat in a quiet neighborhood with a variety of restaurants and shops in short walking distance. It is almost across the street from the Highbury Islington Underground station and therefore easily accessible to the entire city. The owners and manager are thoughtful and accommodating. You should be aware that the flat is on the top floor and that the last stairs are narrow and spiral.

Highly recommended!

I can only echo what other reviewers have said--excellent location, with pubs, restaurants, and grocery stores within easy walking distance, as well as convenient transportation into London and to other parts of the UK and Europe (rail stations are just one tube stop away). The flat is very spacious by London standards and was a comfortable place for my son to visit, cook meals together, and stay over (he lives in northern London). Both the owner and the property manager were highly responsive and helpful---the owner greeted me with the keys when I arrived and graciously offered to carry my very large bag up the stairs, which I greatly appreciated as I was traveling alone. Even so, I did not find the stairs anywhere near as challenging as some guests have suggested, and had no one been there to help me I could have managed the bag on my own and had no trouble bringing it downstairs for checkout. Plus, the charming ambience and the views available from the 4th floor are well worth it! I will definitely be booking this flat on my next visit to London.

Located in fashionable Islington, home to award-winning restaurants, fashion and food shops, this attractive apartment is on the top (third) floor of an 18th century Georgian townhouse. Less than a minute from the tube (Victoria line) it overlooks the beautiful green space of Highbury Fields, while being 10 minutes from Oxford Street and the West End. The famous Almeida Theatre, Sadler’s Wells dance theatre and cinemas are on the doorstep, and the nearest Tesco supermarket is just 5 minutes walk. An ideal base for exploring London, the apartment is also perfectly placed for day trips to Paris. Just one tube stop away is the iconic, beautifully refurbished St Pancras station (stop off at Europe’s longest champagne bar before you leave), and the dazzling new arts and music venue, Kings Place (opening 1 October, 2008).
