Built in 2002, Jenny's Retreat at Sunday River is a four-bedroom with convenient in-law level, located less than 2 miles to Sunday River. Located off the Sunday River access road providing free transportation to and from the mountain by the Mountain Explorer. Large deck with mountains views.
Sunday River, the East's top-ranked resort for families, snow quality, and terrain stretches from mid-November to May. Groomed snowmobile trails are accessible from our front door. Restaurants and shops are aplenty in the Historic Bethel area.
Summer is a great time for golfing and fishing in the mountains around Sunday River.
When skiing gives way to late spring you can take to the many miles of hiking trails, do some of the most scenic canoeing, or experience a challenge in golf.
Hi I'm Jenny and proud to have this property that my dad built.
I am a avert skier and have been part of this community since age10. Sunday River is our favorite ski resort. It is family oriented, offers trails for all abilities and has breath taking mountain views.
Bob Martin purchased this house in 2003
My husband and I love picturesque Bethel, Maine. It is a quaint town that offers many 4 season activities, restaurants, and a lot more. Sunday River, with breath taking mountain views, is our favorite ski resort in the East. It is family oriented, provides ski lessons, and has trails for all abilities.
Jenny's Retreat is a 3 level spacious home with a wrap around deck nestled on a large wooded lot. It has a walk -in lower level daylight in-law apartment, with full kitchen with dining area and living room combination, an oversized bedroom and bath. It is conveniently located to the town of Bethel.
This was the first time I planned a ski weekend with 7 other friends and it was absolutley amazing. I researched properties and found Jenny's retreat. At first I was a little skeptical about renting the house but when we arrived it was everything we could imagine- a large, cozy chalet with a beautiful deck, lots of room, fireplace, nice kitchen and less than 2 miles from the Sunday River! It was so relaxing and we couldn't have asked for a better place! we will definitely be back.
We all had a great stay with this property. Eight adults and one baby and we had enough space to comfortably retreat for quiet time and come
together and eat and play games/cards downstairs.
The house was very well equipped and set up for a large group. Ample linens, cooking appliances (toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, leftover containers, etc.) that made the stay as good as being at home.
Bob, the owner was helpful and easy to work with.
We highly recommend this place and look forward to a return visit to make more memories!
We had a wonderful stay, it felt like home. Everything we needed was there. The home was very clean and tastefully decorated. The fire pit was great as well. The Bethel Inn Country Club was very nice . We also enjoyed floating down Sunday River. Bob was very helpful and informative, and booking was very easy. We will stay again. Maureen
Our group of 8 adults just spent an amazing and fun weekend at Jenny's retreat! Very close to Sunday River skiing! Great space, lots of room for everyone, a wonderful cozy fireplace, dining table for us all to eat together, and all the amenities you could ask for in a weekend rental! We are definitely booking Jenny's retreat again for our groups annual ski trip!
We rented Jenny's Retreat for our third trip to Sunday River. This is by far the most spacious house we've rented. There is even a second family room and second kitchen on the lower level which was great for our teenagers. The kitchen was also very well equipped, which is important for us since we like to cook in when we ski with friends. Also, you can't beat the 5-minute ride to the mountain! We'll be back again!!
I stayed here with 11 others. It fit us pretty well although the sleeping situation was a little tight. The ultimate plus was LOCATION! It was minutes to Sunday River! The main room (living room/dining room/kitchen) was nice for all of us to gather in. There were three bathrooms and one half bathroom. There was also a second living room and kitchen in the lower level which we didn't touch. The place was well-maintained.
As for the cons-
The top bunk beds were unstable for us adults so we stayed away from that. There were two bunks in the home. Secondly, the walls were paper thin. At times it was hard to sleep in the bedroom because you can hear the t.v. and talking going on in the main room.
However, I'd recommend this property for anyone that is looking for a place to stay in Bethel, Maine. Bob, the owner, was helpful and friendly over the phone. It was an easy booking, which I was incredibly happy about. I look forward to a future stay here.
The area has State and National forests, Water Falls Androscoggins River, Ski and Golf resort, Mount Abram, South pond, Mt Washington, White Mountains, North Conway Shops and hiking trails.
