Villa La Torre is a holiday house with private pool in Le Marche. Set in a pristine landscape, this old tower dating back to the end of the XIII cent. has been completely renovated by its owners, keeping its original rural charm. The property includes a lovely swimming pool and a well groomed garden, where trees offer a shaded area equipped with tables and chairs, to enjoy great moments of relaxation. The location is well known for the numberless small Medieval and Renaissance villages scattered throughout the surrounding valleys. The local cooking tradition centred on typical truffle specialities is absolutely worth trying.
The structure is built on three floors. On the ground floor you find a living room with fireplace and double sofa bed and a kitchen. From the living room a winding staircase leads upstairs, where you can find a double bedroom with extra single bed, a small private bathroom with shower. From the kitchen a stairway leads downstairs where you can find a room with three single beds, a bathroom with shower and a laundry area.
* Pets are allowed up to 20 kg weight or alternatively outside the structure with proper kennels

Historic property with fantastic views
We spent 2 weeks in early September in Villa La Torre. The villa is near Abbadia di Naro about 6km out of Aqualagna. The directions were excellent and we found it without any problems, but I would not like to try finding it in the dark. The access road is steep and the last section is a white road with an uneven surface. We were welcomed by Sandro on our arrival, who showed us round and left a few groceries for us including bread and a bottle of local wine! As we got to the villa we saw the view for the first time and we were amazed. There is a view down the valley in both directions and out as far as just the very top of Monte Nerone (1500m). The villa had all the equipment we needed and more for our stay - whatever your ambitions for cooking, you will find what you need. There is a barbecue outside with a lot of small pieces of wood to use on it as well. The bed upstairs was very comfortable, we did not use the bedroom downstairs. There is a small en-suite shower room upstairs and a much bigger bathroom downstairs, both clean and properly equipped. Outside there are extensive gardens with several places to sit and a couple of tables to eat on. There were several comfortable sunloungers and we also used one of the comfortable hammocks. The pool is small but nice enough for a cooling dip on hot days and has the same fantastic views as the rest of the property. The wi-fi worked most of the time and was pretty quick. We didn't turn on the TV. The furniture is a mix of old and new - there is not a lot of storage space for clothes in the top bedroom but there is plenty elsewhere. There are several places of interest within easy reach (Urbino is a must; also Cagli, Urbania, Fossombrone, the Gola di Furlo, Fano, etc.) with the nearest supermarket on the edge of Aqualagna about 6-7 km away. Sandro made several suggestions for trips by e-mail and was very kind and helpful. There are maps and guide books in the property.
What is good: this is an interesting property dating back to the 12th Century with everything you need for your stay. The views are fantastic and it is very quiet. There are very pleasant gardens and a small plunge pool. It was very clean with all the cleaning equipment supplied.
What is not so good: Not suitable for people with mobility problems, lots of steep stairs. You need to drive to get anywhere including shopping for basics. That's it.
Acqualagna is a charming town well known for truffels; a place you will love also for its natural and picturesque scenario. It rises along the antique consular street Flaminia, close to the famous Gola del Furlo. Those who visit Acqualagna for its delicious truffels will be surrounded by the gorgeous landscape of the Appennines: the Mountains Catria and Nerone.
The Abbey of St. Vincent (Abbazia di S.Vincenzo), built on the 9th century by the Benedectine monks, is one of the most distinctiv monuments of Acqualagna. Close to the church there is also a little Roman bridge. The sanctuary of Pelingo is a beautiful place for those who would like to admire the spiritual and naturalistic beauty, but also for those who want to rest his or hers body and soul in a green environment. You will have to visit also the Gola del Furlo, a real paradise which is crossed by the river Candigliano. The river goes through the impressive rock walls and you can enjoy an amazing natural scenario, where you will also find a huge amount of unique exemple of plant life and wildlife.
