Our stay was disappointing to put it nicely. The house is nothing like the pictures (i.e. the living room carpet is not blue). It is old and outdated which wouldn't be a problem, but it is extremely dirty. It definitely was not cleaned between renters as the kitchen floor was black with dirt and the carpets in all rooms were repulsive. Replacing the carpets should be high priority. The curtains appear to have never been washed. The upstairs bathtub and surround seemed clean, but that was about it. The "beds" are the worst part. Each one was worse than I can even describe. The queen on the first floor rolls everything to the center and the king upstairs is so flat and misshapen that we rolled toward one corner. The listing says bring towels and linens, everything else provided, but I was very thankful I brought more (like my own pillows). The kitchen does have a small supply of utensils, but lacks steak knives. The pots and pans are so old and scratched that most are completely useless. We are two young families with a total of 2 babies and it was a nightmare trying to keep the kids off the floor and random crumbs/dirt out of their mouths. Definitely will not rent again and will be hesitant to rent from this listing realtor due to this misleading listing.
This house MIGHT be okay for younger people like college kids. It is an easy walk to Scarborough Beach and a great location to get around Narragansett. There is a good cable package and decent wifi. We ended up leaving our week long vacation a night early.
Just minutes from casual and fine dining, shopping, golfing, fishing, kayaking, boating, biking and hiking. Kids enjoy mini golf, carousel, bumper cars, batting cages, go carts and bowling. See a fishing village in operation in Galilee where you can buy lobsters off the boats and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. Have dinner on the docks or buy fresh fish to cook at home.
Ferry from Galilee to Block Island and spend the day exploring, shopping, biking or swimming. Historic seaside Newport featuring fine beaches, sailing, boating, shopping, cruises, waterfront restaurants and tours of magnificent mansions is just a 20 minute drive as is the quaint village of Wickford. Take a 40 minute drive to Providence to eat at world class restaurants on Federal Hill, tour historic museums and homes on the East Side or take in a play or show in the theater district. Try your luck, shop, dine or take in a show at the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos just 40 minutes away.
Other Activities: shopping, movies, ice skating, mini golf, carousel, batting cages, go carts, sightseeing cruises, charter fishing
Golf: Several beautiful 9 and 18 hole public golf courses available.
