Perfect weekend getaway
I stayed at the Macdonald property. And a hada an amazing time, their house it's really clean and really confortable. The instalations are amazing, great yard, great bedrooms, great tv set and OMG the bathroom its unbelievable!! The two nights that we stayed there it's was really cozy, the Macdonald family were really nice, they welcome us like it was our house. I can't really complain about anything about our stay at their home.
I hope that in the future when I come back to amiens I can come back to here!
Really enjoyed the trip and everything, a different side of Amiens!
Amazing time in Amiens Countryside (Fossemanant)
I had an amazing 2 night stay with my girlfriend at Celine and Craig's house. The place is beautiful, modern, and made us want to extend our stay. As we arrived, we were well greeted by both hosts, as they provided us with great food, stories, and interesting things we could do during our stay (ex, Zoo Amiens Métropole, Amiens cathedral, and bowling). We really enjoyed it as well, as it gave us an escape from the busy cities we're all accustomed to visit. One moment that really made our stay memorable was an early sunrise we witnessed from our patio in Fossemanant, the sky was vibrant with red and yellow stripes, and made the whole trip worth it.
Hôtes sympathiques (merci pour le panier garni!)
Cadre calme et joli (les enfants ont apprécié le jardin)
Excellent rapport qualité/prix : location spacieuse et bien équipée.
Picardy: Picardy is located in the northern part of France. Picardy stretches from the long sand beaches of the Somme estuary in the west to the vast forests and pastures of the Thiérache in the east and down to the chateaux of Chantilly or Pierrefonds near the Paris Area and vineyards of the border with Champagne (Champagne picarde) to the south. An important agricultural region of France, Picardy has a diverse natural environment consisting of 40 km of coastline, many rivers, marshes and ponds and lakes, forests, and pastures. It is a favorite region of France for hiking, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, bicycling, canoeing and kayaking, sailing, sand yachting and other outdoor activities.
Somme: We are located in the department of Picardy called the Somme, named after the Somme river. The Somme was the site of a series of battles during World War I, and is most noted for the prominent use of trench warfare. Particularly significant was the 1916 Battle of the Somme. As a result of this and other battles fought in the area the department is home to many military cemeteries and several major monuments commemorating the many soldiers from various countries who died on its battlefields, particularly those of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. We are less than 30 minutes (35 km/21 miles) from Cantigny, site of the first American offensive of World War I. One of the largest Chinese cemeteries of WWI is located within 30 minutes.
Village of Fossemanant: Rural village with less than 100 inhabitants, only two short streets converge on a small medieval church. A few residents still farm, cows and horses are commonly found grazing in the surrounding fields!
