|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
Private and gated community, conveniently located to all the historical sites, restaurants and party areas, all within easy walking distance. A free trolley is available across the street from the condo that will take you to various places of interest in 'viejo/old' San Juan.
The condo complex is located away from the hustle of city traffic and party noise common in the area. The apartment is on the 1st floor with only 2 steps to the front door in a 2 story building. The condo is close to the Governor' mansion, Capital, federal buildings and the cruise ship piers, the area is well
monitored by local and federal police as well as the Coast Guard.
Since Old San Juan has a very dynamic and vibrant night life, many streets tend to be busy & noisy which makes this apartment a great retreat from activities...quiet days and restful nights.
The apt is located within walking distance to Escambron beach, fine shopping and casinos. The Condado area is 5 minutes away, can be reached by taxi or public transportation. Taxis are plentiful, 24 hours.
The apt faces the Coast Guard bldg & El Arsenal Museum built during the Spanish colonial period. On the opposite side of the complex is the 'Paseo de La Princesa' park with its beautiful fountain at the end of the promenade where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets by the bay and see the walled city as built by the Spaniards. On Sundays evenings locals gather with musical instruments for lively and fun concerts.
The kitchen is fully equipped, quality towels & linen are supplied, individual A/C units in the kitchen and bedroom...there are overhead and floor fans also. Great cross ventilation/breeze in the apt with louver windows/doors that open. The laundry room is located within the apartment.

Gated parking available: $70 charge for use of parking remote & sticker per stay. No taxes or cleaning fees...included.
My father had been working for a pharmaceutical company and was offered a transferred to PR which he gladly accepted. He brought the family to live in San Juan for approximately 3yrs from NYC. I absolutely fell in love with the island, its
warm, friendly & genteel people as well as the fun and positive attitudes. Loved the greenery, flowers and mountainous regions...so very different from NYC. Learned about tropical fruits & vegetables, still many not available in the states today. My father' descendents were originally from the San German area...helped to abolish slavery. I'm proud to be of Puerto Rican heritage...love the island, it's people and their spirit. There is so much to see and do that I still haven't enjoyed all that Puerto Rico has to offer.
Why should you rent this property?
I take great pride in maintaining this condo in the best possible condition... making it an inviting and comfortable place to come to...a place that I would want to visit, stay and return to. My desire is to make guests feel at home.
When compared to other rentals in old San Juan, this apartment is larger than most, clean, well decorated, airy, with all the necessary kitchen accessories.
Quality towels and linen. There are air conditioning units in the bedroom and in the kitchen, however, there's a wonderful cross breeze throughout the apartment when doors are opened.
Manager is on call for assistance.
Convenient to all historical sites, restaurants, shopping (retail, jewelers & groceries), casinos, ferry and cruise ship piers as well as public beach.
Safe with Coast Guard residential facility at the end of the street and federal + local police monitoring area. The complex is also gated.
Quiet complex since it's away from central old San Juan, however, easy walk to
all but you can enjoy your time in the apartment without all the traffic noise, etc.
Laundry room with washer & dryer within the apartment.
Only 2 steps up to the apartment.
My visit to the enchanted island of Puerto Rico was wonderful. Very little rain, wonderful trade winds and friendly people. Your apartment was just the place to park myself for the month of February 2013 (from 2/1 thru 2/28/13). It had everything I needed, including kitchen ware and linens. The telephone made it easy to keep in touch with my family and the internet made it easy to gain information. The location put me just at the southern part of Old San Juan and the old city was just outside my door. Although I was right in San Juan, it was quiet and peaceful.
My wife and daughter enjoyed the condo as well. I appreciated Joe, the manager, being close by and available. He was helpful with directions to the cab driver when she first arrived. The center courtyard was nice and green and even had some seating to relax.
Correspondence and telephone conversations with the owner were very informative and helpful.
Thanks for a lovely stay,
This condo was located in a perfect spot of Old San Juan for us. We are retired, in our early seventies, and this property was very convenient. It has all the emenities we needed. The owner provided excellent service. We could recommend this condo to our friends without hesitation. We plan to return next winter and hope to stay here again. We spent the entire month of January 2009 and it was definitely worth it.
This apartment is very well located, in walking distance to the port, museums, forts, grocery store, old wall, CVS Pharmacy, bus depot etc. The grounds were well groomed and the apartment was clean, with lots of towels and bed linen and a comfortable bed. Since we stayed two months, it was great having the washer and dryer in the apartment!
Ileana (owner) and Joe (manager) were easy to contact answered our questions and saw to any problems, quickly. There were always festivities at the Paseo de la Princesa on the weekends, but the bedroom, at the back of the unit, next to the interior courtyard, was very quiet for sleeping.
We enjoyed going across La Puntilla St. to the old armory to sit in the shade and watch the activities on the water (cruise ships, ferry, and coast guard maneuvers ).
Our only complaint was not having access to the parking inside the gate, when we rented a car for a week. The free parking on La Puntilla, was very limited.
All in all, the old town was fascinating to visit and the condo's location and condition made our stay very enjoyable.
This condo was just right for our first visit to Old San Juan. It is very well equipped with clear instructions on how to operate and find everything. It is very safe and a short walk to the promenade, shopping, trolley stops and street food carts. A great spot to stay and discover the fun and history in Old San Juan. The owner Illana was great to work with and the condo manager was great too. Don and Marilee Muth ...Wisconsin
What a great place to stay in Old San Juan. This property was comfortable, clean, convenient, and just as described in the listing. Ileana, the owner, was very easy to work with and was able to make accommodations for my late night arrival. I loved that it was just a 5-minute walk to the beautiful trees and fountain of Paseo de la Princesa. Highly recommended!
Stayed here for 5 nights and I have to say the location is perfect! Really close to a lot of good restaurants and a brewery! The place is nicely kept both inside the premises and the unit itself. Weather wasn't too bad and when it was hot opening the windows was good enough to feel the breeze from the ocean making it cooler inside. Then again we are from california so we are kind of use to the heat at times just not the humidity, but the place offers ceiling mounted fans which work great. Most of the tourist areas are walking distance therefore we never really had to drive much. We would definitely book this property again and recommend anyone to do so as well. Thanks again Ileana for letting us rent your property and hope to deal with you again in the near future.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in San Juan in this lovely vacation rental. It truly felt like home with all of the amenities available to us, provided by owner Ileana. Returning to the comfortable condo was a treat after a day of sightseeing or relaxing at one of the many nearby beaches. Ileana was also very helpful in telling us of some of the many highlights and interesting historical sights of this beautiful city. We plan to return and are looking forward to our next vacation!
Old San Juan was designated as a world heritage site by the United Nation in 1983. This distinction places Viejo San Juan in a select group of worldwide landmarks. Within walking distance you will find excellent restaurants, patio & open air bars, museums, fine art galleries & historic churches. The art galleries hold a late night exhibit the first Tues. of the month and outdoor exhibits of local crafts are also in view. The forts, El Morro & San Cristobal, fortresses built by the Spanish empire, designated national parks, are also within walking distance. Take a leisurely walk to enjoy sunsets at the Paseo de la Princesa park and see the entry & walled section built to protect the city & harbor. Free concerts held ever Sat. by the bay (1blk from condo) as well as at the Plaza de Armas. On Sunday evenings locals gather at the park for impromptu concerts. See the oldest chapel in N Amer,Capilla De Cristo, also La Rogativa, statue honoring women for saving San Juan from the British.
