About the property

A wooden cabin nestled among the trees

Please note that the HomeAway website does not show the exact rate according to the number of guests for nightly and weekend rentals.

If you take a price estimate from the website, it will not take into account the variation in price according to the number of guests. You will have a wrong calculation!

Feel free to contact us by email. We can provide a quote taking into account the number of guests, the rental period, and duration.

Thank you.

Set among the trees, it is right in the heart of the town of Ronce-les-Bains and the sea at the end of the road, facing the Isle of Oléron. Robinson Cabin is divided into two parts: the cabin and the 6-metre high timber mezzanine.

The cabin has a living area with a lounge, kitchen, and mezzanine, as well as two double bedrooms with a bathroom and separate toilets.

The rooms are arranged around an outdoor walkway.

An extra bedroom is perched up in the trees in the timber mezzanine with its own shower room and toilet.

This rental sleeps six adults with two extra beds on the mezzanine.

Reminder: the two cabins do not have heat insulation. There is a wood-burning stove.

We send more information by email and direct you to our website.

What makes this house unique

Which selling points should we mention?

When talking about the selling points,

Firstly, the beachfront hotel that sits between our location and the sea, preventing us from enjoying the sea view to the full. Nevertheless, we are not crying out for it to be demolished, but after Bruno Solo and the gang from "Hotel de la plage" were made TV icons on France 2 this Wednesday evening, we couldn't help ourselves but laugh!

In spite of everything, we know enough about clam-fishing equipment and a towel for swimming!

The second low point is that our friends the squirrels are not that tame and come to eat when they feel like it. If you are quiet and patient, you can enjoy the spectacle.

We are sure there are other weak points, but absolute perfection is not everything!

Still, we make sure that everything is done well and my husband, Josèphe, has a beautiful boat.

We wish you happy holidays in Robinson Cabin!

Looks great and romantic at first sight, then you live with it.

The location is handy for the beach and shops.

The cabin is tired - needs some work - and cleaning. There is no air con, and the windows only open about three inches - but you can't open them ,as you get eaten alive by mosquitos and as you are in the trees - there is no escape.

First night - there was a party at the hotel opposite, so lots of shouting and rowdiness until 3AM! You are in a cabin with no insulation from sound or heat - or mosquito's. Next night - more shouting until the early hours.

Next three days - woken at 7AM by delivery trucks to hotel and also to building two building sites (hammering, drilling, grinding) on properties close by and to add to it - next door having trees trimmed - so chainsaw running most of the day from 8AM.

We expected the property to be different - but didn't expect every corner of every room

and cupboard to be full of spiders that had been there for a long time - the amount of droppings was not nice to see.

There are bikes. These are tired and not great - yet one got stolen from the garden - even though the gate was closed. We'd only walked to town for lunch and within an hour - it was gone! The gates are full height - so someone must have known they were there. I'm not happy that the owner has suggested that we lost it!!! Other items of ours were also stolen from the table on the veranda, which is at the opposite end of the property.

Owner requested second half of payment to be cash on arrival - to which I agreed, but then told when enroute that his caretaker who would give us the keys - didn't want to take the cash. All very confusing and unsettling. So paid via H&A website the day we arrived, got confirmation from H&A and thought all done - only to be advised by owner that we'd not paid as he doesn't use the H&A payment system! Once back home and checked my accounts, I sent a euro transfer directly - only to get abuse back from owner about time taken.

This owner knows nothing about customer relations or how to prepare a house for guests. would I go again - no chance!

This tree house is wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

The best place to stay in the area! Peaceful, close to nature and 10-20mins drive / cycle ride from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Cote Sauvage). AND you are in the heart of oyster country!

The owners and their representative in the village could not have been more charming and helpful.

The tree house is beautifully done. Rustic, as you would expect, but modern plumbing and showers etc. The terrace where the dining table is is so peaceful and the red squirrels made frequent appearances in the quiet moments.

Ronce les Bains is also a fun little seaside village/town, with a bakery, souvenir shops, small supermarket and a charming, small-scale funfair which our daughters loved (trampolines, bumper cars, big wheel etc).

And we would thoroughly recommend a trip to eat at one of the oyster shacks in nearby La Tremblade.

Dépaysement total

  • 5 of 5

Bonjour,

week end formidable

  • 5 of 5
