Figueira House Rental Photos and Description

Sleeps 2-4

A beautifully furnished ground floor house located 10 minutes walk to Salema Beach with magnificent sea views from the front and roof terrace. Ideal for families. In the lounge there is a wood burning fire ideal for the cooler winter months.

Wifi and full cable TV has just been installed with upto date movies and full sports including all Sky Sports, and BT Sport.

The house is fully equipped for families as there is use of a travel cot, high chair, stair gate, table seat, baby rocker and an Avent baby microwave sterilizer as well as a selection of toys and books.

The house is complimented by the inner courtyard area, which is set up for alfresco dining with the use of a BBQ.

The roof terrace has stunning views across the bay of Salema, and is a perfect spot to watch the sunset, 2 sun loungers are available.

The roof terrace is complemented by a rattan table which is the ideal spot for that morning coffee.

Check in time is 2.00 pm - Check out 10.30 am (although this is flexible with prior arrangements).

Welcome packs available on request 10 Euro per pack.

If you are tennis players there are courts to hire at Parque de Floresta, 4 minutes drive and at Alma Verde Resort, 8 minutes drive, there are 2 adult rackets at the house and children's rackets can be hired at the tennis centers. Both are lovely facilities.

Also recommended is the fishing trip out of Sagres harbor, they offer a family fishing trip which travels down to Cape St Vincent where you catch your mackerel and cook it on-board, further details can be forwarded on. My husband and son took this trip in October this year and saw a hammerhead shark as well as catching 12 mackerel not bad for amateur fishermen!!!

Also any of the dolphin trips booked out of Lagos marina are well recommended, we have had dolphin sightings every time.

Well equipped house in prime, quiet location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here the first week in April. The house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and though there is off-road parking this is not really required; the front patio is better used for sunbathing . The lounge is light and airy, and the adjoining kitchen clean and really well-equipped. The back door opens onto a large, enclosed courtyard with good quality table and chairs-we think this would be a real asset in hot the summer months. From here steps go up to the roof terrace which is comfortably furnished and affords fabulous views over the sea and village. We spent a lot of time here reading, drinking and sleeping! Would I recommend the property? Yes! To couples and especially families with young children- the house was stocked with toys, body boards, paddling pool, etc

Lovely, spacious, clean house

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in May in this lovely house. It is light, spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and furnished and feels secure and child-safe. Kitchen was excellent for self-catering purposes, and the TV had British channels available for when it (briefly) rained.

Salema is a beautiful and relatively unspoilt large village with working fishermen still pulling their boats up on the sandy beach. The village does cater for tourists with a choice of about 10 restaurants and snack bars catering for a variety of tastes and bank balances. The only, very minor downside is that the 5-minute walk from the town/beach is a bit steep to push a fully-loaded wheelchair up.

Dealing with the owner was a pleasure and she not only provided quick and thorough service, but was also happy to provide advice on any number of issues.

Well worth the price.

Tolles Haus, schöner Ort, herrliche Gegend

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review - we are so glad you enjoyed our holiday home as much as we do and welcome you back anytime. I have provided a English Translation We stayed end of April for two weeks in the house and made us feel very welcome. The contact with the very nice and friendly landlady great folded (quick response via email and phone). The house is very quiet on a dead end - the houses are around around probably largely also cottages, few are permanently inhabited. However, the neighbors have been all very friendly and open. In the house is really all you need to live in a cottage - the fireplace and bath on various kitchen appliances to the WLAN. For everything else, there is a very nice housekeeper (also German) on site, which has the house showed us shortly and also took care of any requests or concerns. We were traveling with an infant (8 months). This worked well and there are many things children (high chair, travel cot, toys, beach stuff) on site. Only the (still) pretty cool floor tiles have led us to limit the crawling cravings of our little one to a few minutes, so he does not so cools. In summer, however this should be sure to be enjoyable and not a problem. The bedroom has a real great view of the coast (unfortunately a bit of a tree against restricted), the more beautiful from the roof terrace is even - especially at sunrise. There is also a small courtyard with additional seating, large table and a little shade (if one of the many white houses are too bright), which we had not seen in the description or in the photos first. One can therefore beautiful ventilate from front to back. About the courtyard is accessed via an external staircase to the roof terrace. The area and the place we liked very well. One can either stroll (depending on road about 5-10 minutes), where there are shops and several restaurants within walking distance to the fishing. The beach is great and was at our time mostly pretty empty, so you could walk quite relaxed. Or you can walk along the coast. Or day trips by car make. In about 30 minutes you are on the Cape or on the west coast, which is also worth a visit. We would definitely go back again here (but there is for us no matter how many other nice place to discover ...)
