Sequoia cabin near park entrance
A lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the mountains, with spacious yard and views. Great place to stay while visiting Sequoia National Park. Perfect accommodations for our family of 5.
5 Stars all the way!
We had such a fantastic Christmas getaway in this wonderful property! All of our expectations were met and then surpassed. The location is quiet and feels remote but without being too far away from what you need. The National Park is so close and we loved driving in for day hikes and sightseeing then getting back to the warmth of the cabin. The cabin was spotless and has everything you need. We have a habit of packing everything we might want to use in the kitchen but we needn't this time as it was very well stocked; baking trays, glasses, dished and utensils galore. The views from the young and two large bedrooms were fantastic and, whilst they have internet access, there's no need when you can sit out on the deck and just look at nature! Amazing. We'd love to return and try a different time of year too! Thanks
Our stay at the Storybook Cabin could not have been more perfect. Warm, cozy (yet spacious!) accommodations made for the perfect 5 day getaway. We prefer cooking for ourselves rather than dining out all the time and the kitchen is very well appointed. The cabin is but a few minutes drive to the entrance of Sequoia National Park. Day 1 we drove to Lodgepole -it took about an hour, which is what we expected. We were here in mid-October so the crowds in the park were way down. Our first hike to Tokopah Falls resulted in long sections where we didn’t see another soul. Back at the cabin, we’d spend the evenings on the back porch, watching hummingbirds, deer, acorn woodpeckers, and even spied a Cooper’s Hawk that flew in and landed on a nearby tree. Our hosts provided thoughtful touches that made us feel very welcome. We would absolutely stay here again!
Cozy & homey
We felt welcome as soon as we walked in the door by a nice bottle of wine & a welcome sign!! Such a nice personal touch!! The house was well equipped with coffee creamer, tea, wonderful towels & books with information about the town, etc.
The only inconvenience to us was having to go downstairs for the additional shower.
Delightful log cabin
The property is comfortable, cozy, well stocked and ready for visitors. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and a good selection of condiments and spices. There is a nice assortment of games, puzzles, and even an basketball and a hoop out back. Satellite tv and good internet service too.
Communication with the owner was excellent and informative. There is a notebook of suggested places to go and see in Three Rivers and the parks.
The back deck overlooks the valley, is spacious and a great place to enjoy a quiet morning cup of coffee or a relaxing glass of wine after a day of hiking in the park.
The location is just a few minutes from the park entrance. Three rivers is a small town with a reasonably good assortment of restaurants so it is possible to get by without cooking if that might be your preference. There are a couple of gas stations and a small general store but if you are going to be doing much grocery shopping it might be best to stop at a larger store on the way. We stopped in Visalia.
The cabin is on a small twisty paved road and easy to find once you know the way but I would recommend printing out the directions supplied by the owner as our car’s gps system could not find the location. Finally, cell service varies between very limited to nonexistent in Three Rivers and the parks so depending on the cell phone gps is risky too. WiFi calling worked well while in the cabin though.
All in all a great place to stay for a visit to a couple of incredible National Parks.
Great location, lovely house
Loved the house - particularly the deck with the hummingbird feeder, one gorgeous bird kept us company every morning for breakfast!
Location is fabulous, beautiful views, deer coming into the garden, not too far from the town, close to Sequoia NP and this is what really sells it.
House was well appointed and well furnished and mostly clean. A few things starting to look a little tired but it wouldn't take much to bring up to perfect and it didn't spoil the overall impression.
Most of us found the beds uncomfortable - very soft and unsupportive which was the only downside to this lovely property.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry to hear you found the beds uncomfortable. This is the first time any guest has mentioned the beds being uncomfortable. The firmness of a bed is subjective and we are sorry you did not find the beds to be what you are used to.
