Alfama 4 is on the second floor (no lift) of an old building recently fully refurbished.

Renovation was complete and carefully accomplished: pre-existing old materials were incorporated with the new, adding personality to the apartment. Noble old wood as well as stone and iron elements stand out in graciously harmony. Decoration is sober in a modern rustic style with most features you would find in a recent apartment.

The apartment can accommodate with full comfort up to 6 people. It is composed of a large open space from the large living room and dinning area to the modern and very well equipped kitchen.

There are 3 separated bedrooms: one suite with private bathroom and a double bed (2 mattresses); a second bedroom with 2 single beds and a third with a bunk bed of 2 sinle beds.

A second full bathroom with a tub and a long exterior balcony complete the flat.

Alfama 4 is ideal for large families or groups of friends who want a quality very spacious apartment right in the centre of the most picturesque quarter of Lisbon.

Very enjoyable.

Shame about the smelly drains

The place was very comfortable and looked good - it was convenient and clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. Unfortunately there was a bad smell from the drains in both bathrooms. There was an attempt to mask the smell with puffer deodorants but this, combined with the smell, was most unpleasant. I hope the problem can be remedied because otherwise, the place was fine.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Sally. I am happy to read everything was great except smell from drains. In the previous 15 reviews (13 of them rating flat as 5 stars - actually we never had a 3 stars rate only before) we had no reports of bad smell from drains. We hear from neighbours it may happen in the lower part of Lisbon a couple of times a year when the river tide is too high or too low. I am sorry it was during your stay! We do not mask smells: we have puffer deodorants in every bathroom in the 16 apartments we manage. Mario

Spacious spotless apartment

Home is exactly as pictured. Location is great, right in Alfama. The prop mgr, Mario, can be reached easily. Note: no air con - can get hot (keep the shutters closed during the day); up two flights (don't bring too heavy a bag). All in all, a truly great place to recommend. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful apartment close to everything

Apartment was perfect for our family of 5. Had two nice bathrooms and 3 spacious bedrooms. Super easy to check and out. So close to many small grocery stores and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

Modern conveniences in an old-fashioned neighborhood

We loved this roomy, spotless apartment. The apartment itself is a gem -- an old building that has been modernized in a way that highlights the original architecture. It has huge shuttered windows that look out onto Lisbon's famous clay tiled roofs on one side and onto the charming Rua Do Remedios on the other. It has all the modern conveniences and is well equipped for cooking and dining at home. And the neighborhood is lovely. It perhaps wouldn't be the best place for a stuffy suburbanite who is looking for a resort-like experience, but we were happy to be in the middle of the Alfama, with its maze of narrow streets and alleys, laundry lines and balcony gardens.

El piso Alfama 4 está ubicado en la calle Remedios, 70, en el pintoresco barrio de Alfama, una de las zonas más antiguas y genuinas de la coidad.

El barrio es típico por sus calles y callejones estrechos, escaleritas y plazuelas, llenos de vida y de animación, y de mercadillos, restaurantes, bares y, por supuesto, casa de fado. El Fado se escucha en casi todos los restaurantes de esta calle y el Museo del Fado está solamente a 3 minutos.

El piso está a poca distancia de diversas atracciones y se llega andando a la Plaza de Comercio y a la Baixa en unos 15 minutos. Hay diversos autobuses y la estación de metro de Santa Apolonia está a menos de 10 minutos.
