The pool is large enough for lap swimming and deep enough for diving. My wife's favorite... lying in a tube sunbathing and reading. My name is Steve Radl, and I am married to Danielle Radl, my college sweetheart. We have a large family, ranging from 23 years old to 10 years old, all the kids surf, and we decided that we wanted a beautiful vacation spot for our family to enjoy. We traveled around Costa Rica until we came to Nosara and after one night we knew this was it. We purchased our property and built our oasis.
The Owner purchased this house in 1999
After growing up in the South Bay and Hawaii, My wife and myself wanted something that reminded us of our growing up years:) and Nosara seemed like the perfect paradise. It had all the tropical beauty of Hawaii and the infrastructure of the South Bay.
One of our favorite things is the down time. The kids all have busy lives between a full academic schedule as well as the club sports that they play. The family gets to relax, reconnect, and just enjoy life.
So my family of five (17, 15, 10 year old kids) rented Casa Radl for a week in March. We all had a great week (minus a little local stomach bug that caught the wife and kids) surfing w/ Agua Tibia surf school , doing yoga at the Nosara Institute, horseback riding up the beach and just chillin' by the pool. Rodolfo the gardner is a saint (super nice guy) and Jackie is a great chef...definitely have her make some fresh guacamole / salsa...
We have traveled extensively through Costa Rica and have now found our favorite place in Nosara/Playa Guiones: Casa Radl! This property has it all. It is safe, which is an absolute MUST in Costa Rica, it is right by the beach, it is reasonably priced considering it sleeps up to 12 people, it has a huge pool with an outdoor lounge/kitchen/dining set up for a large group, there are bicycles provided to get around, the housekeeper and gardener are loyal and so helpful and one feels secluded even though the walk to local restaurants, markets and shops is a short one. Casa Radl is the perfect retreat for anyone who enjoys tropical living.
This is a special place with a lot of local flavor, which we loved. The outdoor kitchen and living area is a cross between luxury and camping - so elegant and so casual at the same time. Sleeping upstairs from the kitchen is like being in a treehouse! The master suite is comfortable and private and the bunk room suitable for the coming and going of various guests. There are "American" style rentals in Guiones with granite counters and stainless appliances, multiple luxury bathrooms etc etc but this place is much more fun, feels just as luxurious and the owners and staff are AMAZINGLY helpful. You can really feel you are away from it all. Not to be missed.
This house is absolutely stunning property and the outside grounds are luscious. the pool and hangout area are very large and open. Lots of Beds to accommodate a group. the surf is right down the street. Stoked to be able to stay here and Jackie is an AWESOME cook! thanks for sharing your house steve i hope to make it back there one day!
We adore this house!! Our family of 5 was lucky enough to call this amazing compound HOME for 2 months this fall. We fell in love with the gorgeous grounds and natural surroundings (frequent monkey, pizote, raccoon and bird sightings), the short walk to Guiones Beach, the enormous pool, and the super cozy outdoor Rancho. We had frequent visitors, and easily and comfortably shared this space with other families. One friend told me that seeing sunrise from the room above the Rancho was one of the best experiences of her life. The kids had a blast in the bunk room! Rodolfo, the gardener, and Jackie, the housekeeper, practically felt like family by the time we left... they were so friendly and welcoming. This is a magical space that has created lifelong memories...we can't recommend it highly enough!!
This home was wonderful in many ways - the location was great.... very close to the beach, surf spots, and to some good restaurants. The grounds/landscaping is beautiful and extremely well kept. The pool was huge and clean, and our 2 boys (ages 4 & 7) absolutely loved it. Jackie (the cook/cleaner) was awesome and made us some delicious meals.
The A/C was quiet and worked well for sleeping. We really enjoyed Nosara, from surfing everyday, to the "keiki" tidepools close by, to the horseback riding, a visit to the SIBU monkey sanctuary, and a few awesome day trips to Playa Ostional and Samara. It was quite an adventure!
The things that could be improved about this home are: lack of window coverings in the master bedroom area, and the quality of dishes/pots/pans in the kitchen. Some may be just fine with the sleeping arrangements for their kids, but it was our first time in Costa Rica and we all ended up in the same room for our 2 week stay. The downstairs room is accessible only by an outer steel door .
All in all we found this property to be a great value, and have fun memories of our jungle adventure.
Nosara Yoga Insitute-daily community classes, Zip-lining, volcano tours, waterfall tours, turtle reserve (nesting and hatching)There are 3 surf schools in town and private lessons as well..
