Located near the southern shore of Tenants Harbor, this lovely farmhouse is the perfect place to bring the family for a casual mid-coast vacation. Enjoy morning coffee on the sunny deck, a heavenly place to read and relax. Just a five-minute walk down the quiet lane brings you to a beautiful wooden dock, where you can put in your kayak, swim, or simply gaze Eastward, toward the majestic islands of the Mussel Ridge Channel.
Enjoy the simple pleasures of Maine: birdwatching, walks in the woods or on the shore, curling up by the wood stove on a foggy day. Kids love the annex, which is connected by breezeway to the main house--sleep in the loft or in the double bed downstairs and enjoy the private outdoor shower. The nearby village of Port Clyde offers ferry service to Monhegan Island, and the amenities of Rockland, Rockport, and Camden are a half-hour away. Our family has enjoyed this house for three generations; we know you will too.
Best part of this rental is the access to dock where we could keep our kayaks and access the water. Grandkids loved biking around the neighborhood, picking raspberries, and using the tennis court. Very friendly neighborhood with nice walks through the woods.
Too bad that Homeaway/VRBO adds a 10% service fee AND home protection insurance fee to the cost.
This was one of two houses in which my extended family stayed over the last two weeks for our annual family gathering. Sam has a lovely house with great qualities. My kids loved playing in the annex during the two very cold and rainy days our first full weekend there. They also loved the outdoor shower! The house gets some great cross breezes, which makes sleeping very easy. Beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked for what we needed. Though the house is not water front, it has water access and it is close enough to the water that you can smell it in the air. I loved sitting on the porch and breathing in the Maine air! Make sure to walk down to the dock. Though Maine waters are a bit cold for me, the kids and Dads loved jumping off the dock. We also used the tennis courts a few times. All in all, this is a great house, and you will not be disappointed. Sam is also very easy to work with. Enjoy!
This home was everything we had hoped for! So comfortable and quaint..furnishings were very homey, kitchen easy to work from. Comfy living room with wood burning stove, which we took advantage of! Loft space off the main house perfect for extended family. And Tenants Harbor was perfect! Access to the bay and the shared floating dock was the best! Great place to sit and dream, read or just be. Best part of the house was the outside porch! Comfy, and the views were spectacular! The owner was very accessible and friendly! We will be back Maine!!
Love this house so much! This is our second year. Its like stepping back into our childhood homes in Maine. So warm and comfortable. From cozy fires in the "barn" to cookouts on the porch we always feel like we are "home". The house is so welcoming. We hope to be back next year.
We loved the farmhouse. It was just as described and very comfortable. Being originally from the Rockland area we were familiar so we knew it would be lovely. Very peaceful and quiet. The house is very comfortable and we felt at home as soon as we stepped in. There was plenty of space to have our families over and we made some wonderful memories. The only disappointing thing is that we can't rent it for the holdays if we come up! Highly recommend this house for a true Maine vacation.
The house was very comfortable for our family. We enjoyed the amenities of the Dock and Tennis court. Location is terrific with proximity to the Beach, Restaurants, local Farms, and the Harborside General Store. Great time
