A beautiful, well equipped kitchen provides a great place to cook and a large dining table accommodates all of your family and friends. It is exceptional quality, for an economical vacation.
The cabin is warm, clean and located in a beautiful 1.5 acre setting with an unobstructed view of Lionshead Mountain. Denny Creek runs along the boundary of the back yard. Wanted to let you know that we had a great time in the Red Cedar Cabin last week. The beds are great and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The only problem we had was some of our group had trouble climbing the stairs and that's our problem not yours! We ended up with 5 couples and enough food for twice as many or twice as long. We will surely check in with you the next time we are in Yellowstone.
We came from three states (Oregon, Colorado and Idaho) to meet at Red Cedar and had an amazing time! It was the perfect meeting place for our family of 14 with six of them being under the age of 13! We really enjoyed that everyone had their own space, including the kids and the large bathrooms were so nice to get ready in! I also liked that the cabin, for the most part, is handicap accessible. Having large open doorways and a seat in the downstairs shower made a big difference for my father with muscular dystrophy. I would love to see a ramp or another way, other than the steep stairs, to gain access into the home but we are certainly not complaining by any means. The kitchen was perfect for making large meals and prepping for the days activities. The table is certainly a great place to sit and play games or just eat together as a family. We loved sitting on the back porch enjoying the sunsets, watching the kids ride bikes up and down the road and taking walks during the evening. Sue (property management) was great and made up feel welcome! We also loved the close proximity to town and had so much fun at the Arial Adventure (highly recommend!) We will for sure be back to Red Cedar!
The only changes I would make (and again, we loved it so just a little constructive criticism):
the ramp, the beds are a bit soft and it would be nice to have a downstairs sitting area other than the two oversized chairs and the kitchen table. A couple of couches downstairs, granted that space is limited, would be nice to have a sitting area to hang out at.
It's not easy to find accommodations for 12 people, so this cabin is ideal for a group trip to Yellowstone. We used the well-appointed kitchen extensively and the propane grills on the back deck once. Everything was in working order. The property manager is very accommodating and the house was very clean. The water pressure may drop with 12 people, but we never ran out of hot water. We loved socializing in the back yard after a day of hiking Yellowstone.
We booked this house and one other in the same development for a family reunion. We had thirteen people in this house and it worked out great for us. The kitchen and dining room are huge, and opens onto a large deck that gets afternoon sun. The bedrooms are more than adequate, and three of them have private bathroom suites. Two other full bathrooms, and there was really never a wait to use one.
It's a pretty short drive into West Yellowstone, and the park entrance is literally on the edge of town. We spent our days in and around Yellowstone, and evenings back at the houses. We ate all of our dinners at this house, with 20 people.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need to cook for huge groups, which is not always the case with home rentals. There were more than enough plates, silverware, glasses, cups, etc. And loads of different pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Two gas grills on the deck.
I highly recommend this house if you have a big group.
Great location. Excellent for large family groups. Has every thing you need for a wonderful vacation.
We spent a week at the Red Cedar cabin and enjoyed it very much. It is quiet and relaxing while having all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Multiple King beds and 5 baths gives everyone privacy and comfort. The only thing we missed was having more than one TV with a satellite receiver. This was not a show stopper as we were not at the house a great deal. Men and women don't agree on a TV program most of the time. This slight issue does not keep me from giving the cabin a 5 star rating as everything else is exemplary. Highly recommended for relaxing and a home base for Yellowstone!
Our bowling team competed at the Women's National Bowling Championship in Reno. Yellowstone was a side trip that we took after bowling. The cabin was very roomy and very clean. We had six women and never lacked having our own space. The cabin was well stocked; the only thing that we had to furnish for the cabin was bath soap. It is conveniently located near the West Entrance and the town of West Yellowstone. We will return with our families. Loved It! We would recommend going to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. The restaurants that we would recommend would be Madison Crossing (Lobster Bisque was outstanding) and The Outpost (Home Cooking, but does not serve alcohol).
Ten minutes from Yellowstone National Parks West entrance.
