Aspenhall is a 1940s-era rustic mountain getaway just three blocks from the shore of Lake Tahoe. Located in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood in the community of South Lake Tahoe, Aspenhall is an excellent central location for year-round activities in one of the world’s most beautiful natural vacation destinations. In addition, all the conveniences of shopping, restaurants, coffee houses, etc. are within easy walking distance.
Inside and out, Aspenhall retains the look and feel of old Lake Tahoe. Knotty pine plank paneling, vaulted ceilings, rugged fixtures and mountain style furnishings combine with modern upgrades to make this a cozy retreat where your spirit can be renewed.
With four bedrooms, Aspenhall can accommodate up to 8 people, but it can also provide roomy comfort for a single family or couple.

The location is excellent for Heavely and South Tahoe and the Lake. It is also near supermarket, coffee, restaurants etc
The house is very well equipped. There is clear guidance about how everything works.
We loved the intimacy of the house. Four bedrooms and a good size living room, and kitchen all fit in what looks like a relatively small house from the outside. The garden is a good size.
Thank you for a wonderful few days. Much appreciated.
Loved the home. Very comfortable. Enjoyed playing in the backyard. Kids loved it. Had a great time!
Perfect cabin for 8 people with a Beautiful backyard. The back has a hot tub and a BBq which we used both. Super convenient location to everything- we would recommend and rent again. Cheers!
The 4 adults and 2 dogs in our party really enjoyed our 3-night stay at Aspenhall. It's not fancy, but it is a cute, very functional, and ultimately relaxing vintage cabin.
The location is very central. We were visiting South Lake Tahoe to see Sting and Peter Gabriel in concert at Harveys and it was a quick, inexpensive UBER ride, which proved to be much less stressful than fighting event traffic and parking. You can also easily walk to the Lake, to Safeway, and to multiple restaurants - look for the trails that cut through the neighborhood versus going out on busier streets. Speaking of restaurants, we really enjoyed the "Local's Brunch Cafe" for breakfast and MacDuff's Pub for lunch, dinner and just hanging our over a good pint.
Be forewarned, there is only 1 queen size bed. The rest of the beds are cozy for a couple - 2 full beds and bunk beds. The bedrooms are small. But the great room and adjoining kitchen more than make up for it. This area felt spacious and comfortable. And we loved the backyard with it's lawn, quaking aspens, and evergreens, plus a jacuzzi brand spa. Inside and out, it was very dog friendly and very dog secure. Our Labradors seemed to really enjoy the backyard.
Note that the barbeque is a charcoal briquet burning Weber kettle, not gas. This actually made me very happen as I also have one at home. There's a chminey to light your charcoal so you don't have to use nasty smelling and tasting lighter fluid, but you do need to bring your own briquets.
We brought an Amazon Tap speaker which connected with the cabin's WIFI giving us music and more wherever we wanted it. We also hooked up an Amazon Fire TV Stick to the TV (also connected to WIFI), so we had many more evening entertainment options than just basic cable. Was very grateful for the strong WIFI at Aspenhall. We also brought a fan from home as it was warm the weekend we were there and this quickly cooled the cabin down. There are fans in the upstairs bedroom which did a good job keeping them cool. The kitchen was well equipped overall. I brought a couple of my own knives and an omletter pan. There's a good coffee maker and better than decent wine glasses - all important things to our party.
Again, Aspenhall is not by any sense of the word fancy, but is clean, comfortable, very dog friendly, and in very central location. The owner was very timely and friendly in his communications. We would recommend to others and stay there again.
This cabin has a nice, fenced yard and the hot tub works great. The stairs to get to the two bedrooms upstairs are very steep and narrow but it is nice that there is a half bathroom upstairs. I would come back again.
Loved our stay here! Listing was accurate, great location and easy to find. Close to Safeway, very convenient. Neighborhood was very nice. Definitely recommend and hope to come back in the future. Thank you!
