From the coast path you can either walk the pretty way to the surfing beach of Polzeath, or head towards Greenaway (a 10 minutes walk), Daymer (a 15 minute walk) or Rock (a 45 minute walk).
Polzeath has a great Spar shop and offers fish and chips, pasties, pizza and ice cream as well as some great surf and clothing shops and a gallery.
Greenaway is a wonderful place for rock pooling when the tide is out and the hours just drift past as you become totally absorbed in shrimping, crabbing and fishing.
Daymer Bay has a large car park that is very reasonable to park in all day and is sandcastle heaven and one of the best windsurfing spots in the country. At low water it has a vast beach.
Rock beach has several pubs/restaurants with wonderful views over the Camel estuary, great shops and also has sailing and a sailing/ powerboat school, water skiing and a waterski school, fishing trips and the ferry to Padstow.

Trehanoo House is our family holiday home and as such we keep it set up for ease of use for 8 people on holiday. We keep it up to date. We spend a month in the winter there ourselves, decorating, updating and adding to the comfort and ease of having a holiday in the house. I ask for feedback from tenants and, where possible, include them in next year’s update. Any problems are dealt with immediately by either myself or Jackie the housekeeper.
A hot shower when you arrive back from a surf is a joy; you can rinse your wetsuit off whilst still in it and peel it off whilst under the hot water and then hang it up on the purpose made wetsuit rack. Then quickly into the house for a proper shower in the wet room.

We're just back from a wonderful week at the Trehanoo Annexe and had a great time. The location is just brilliant - you can walk to Polzeath beach in five to 10 minutes (depending how many surfboards, small people, etc) you are carrying. I've been going on holidays to Cornwall on and off for years and one thing that always stresses me out during high season is having to be strategic about car parking places. Not so here. We were able to gaily stroll to the beach whenever we wanted, and nip down for cheeky surfs at the end of the day or early in the morning. I had a beautiful walk along the coastal path to Daymer bay and St Enodoc's church, and we had some great family trips to Padstow via the ferry from Rock (get to the car park early in high season) and to Crealy Adventure Park. The annexe itself had everything we needed and was comfy, clean and quiet. We did, I'll confess, spend quite a lot of time just chilling out and watching the Olympics on telly. I'm sure we'll be back.
We stayed at the Trehanoo Annex for 2 weeks with our 5 month ld baby and enjoyed our stay immensely. It's very close to the coastal path where you can get to Polzeath Beanch or Daymer beach which is closer to the Estuary. The walks around the coast are lovely. You can also walk to Polzeath beach along a more direct route in 5 mins. The annex itself was very cosy and had all the facilities and was very tidy inside. The garden area just to the side of the annex (which isn't in the pictures) is very quiet and secuded and great for relaxing. Will definately stay again when we return to Polzeath!
A nice gesture for welcome with flowers and a bottle of wine . The annexe is very pretty , unusually very well equipped kitchen with an open , comfortable living area , and two bedrooms very comfortable beds, spotless linen and towels provided . Nice garden for relaxation. Surrounding very quiet. Everything was very well described and presented. The short distance to the beach, the local facilities and restaurants is great . We stayed for one week with our 2 teenage children. The only "problem" our kids had, was that the wifi was quite often too weak to be online, which we - as parents - enjoyed because we had more family life with our kids. We love Polzeath very much and come nearly every year for the last ten years from Munich to this special place in northcornwall. We happily recommend the trehanoo annexe to our friends.
We had a lovely stay in the little blue house, it had everything we needed inside. The location is fab close to the beach, although the hill is steep but we stopped halfway to admire the view then carried on. Everything clean and working well. Outside garden space was nice too, very quiet location. We will defiantly be coming back. We loved it!
This was our 4th (or maybe even 5th) stay in the Trehanoo annexe and as usual we loved it! The new open plan living space makes the annexe seem brighter and much more spacious and we only wished we could stay longer.
Polzeath was lovely as always, fab beach and lovely vibe. Also, the annexe is in such a great position for walks to the beach (10 minutes away) and walks along the cliff-tops to Port Isaac and Padstow. Would highly recommend to everyone.
This is a great place- just a stones throw from the beach, with surf and lovely long walks along the coast. The cottage is small but has everything you could need!
