Welcome to 'SouthPointe'
We are located just steps from the beautiful, pristine, guarded, Fenwick Island beaches. The wonderful thing about staying in Fenwick Island is that the beaches are not nearly as crowded as Bethany or Rehoboth, yet the central location makes everything along the Delmarva coast within easy reach.
There is plenty of room in this fairly new, single family home for everyone. However, please keep in mind that Fenwick Island has a strict 12 person maximum occupancy law. There are 3 levels of wrap around decks plus two balcony's, complete with an indoor/outdoor sound system. The top floor Master Suite boasts expansive ocean views and has a beautiful slate tiled bathroom with a walk in shower accompanied by two shower heads.
The second Master Bedroom Suite offers a slate tiled shower as well as a large soaking tub. It also has a single pull out sofa bed for a child, if needed.
There are two more bedrooms with queen beds as well as another bedroom with twin beds. On the lower floor, there is a den with a single pull out sofa bed. There is a two car garage to keep your cars clean and room for 2 more cars if needed. There is also a private outdoor shower and 5 bikes for you to have access to.
The house has been professionally decorated by well known, local designer, Mareita Bertram of MLB Designs. We have decorated this house with your every need in mind. The gourmet kitchen boasts granite counters and stainless appliances. We have also outfitted it with extra Cuisinart small appliances.
The family room has a large LED Samsung TV and is filled with lots of games to keep you entertained. There is a lovely gas fireplace for you to relax around on an occasional chilly night. The house is within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, mini golf, go cart racing, movies and a terrific water park.

Dear Perspective Vacationers,
We have had rave reviews from all of our guests that stayed at "SouthPointe" in its first season, last summer. Quite a few guests wrote "over the top" and "exceeded our expectations" in our guest book. We sincerely hope that you will have the opportunity to stay at wonderful "SouthPointe" too!
Cheers to a great vacation!

After renting at Bethany Beach and other Fenwick Island properties in the past, we have become regulars at this charming property. I’m not one to write reviews, but I feel obliged to do so here to give others a full picture of what to expect at SouthPoint. As others have noted, Southpoint is not directly on the Ocean Front. However each of the bedrooms on the 3rd and 4th floors has a water view or direct access to a deck with a water view. The wrap around decks on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors are spectacular and the private deck on the 4th floor master is a wonderful secluded getaway ;> The view is not unobstructed, but it is spectacular. The photos give you an idea.
The location is very close to the beach – easy to go back and forth – which was much appreciated when our children were younger! The location is perfect for those who prefer to park their car and walk to restaurants, mini golf, water parks, movies and other entertainment. The Fenwick Shores community is far enough away from coastal highway that you don’t get traffic noise, but yet close enough that everything is walkable.
As others have said, the interior furnishings are spectacular. More like something you’d see in a Ritz Carlton than in a Delaware beach rental property. The rooms are spacious and there is no effort to cram beds into bedrooms to increase the sleeping capacity. I coud repeat what others have said, but you get the idea – Southpoint is a very unique property and once you ‘ve experienced you are not likely to be satisfied with anything else. Suffice it to say that our annual week at SouthPoint is the highlight of each summer.
While quick access to a lovely beach, this location is extremely noisy and overlooks a huge parking lot, condos and many, many homes. "Waterview" is from the edge of the balcony (very unsteady railing) and corner of rooms. I do not consider this a relaxing atmosphere; rowdy beach activities late into the night and early morning, motorcycles passing constantly.
The house is nicely done; although the carpeting is filthy and worn. The kitchen is poorly equipped and offered only 4 wine glasses, and lacking many items for cooking and storage. The microwave did not work (relator told us it did). The door would not close and we taped it shut to avoid walking into an open door. The ice maker dispensed cubes without being initiated.....
Overall this was a very disappointing rental. In another location it would have been nice.
The listing was unclear as to the "location" of this home. Scenery was not particularly pleasant. The many balconies over looked a large parking lot on one side, and a very crowded housing cluster on the other. The water view was accessible only by going to the very corner of the house room or balcony (which had very unsturdy railings). The location was just over the Ocean City border. It was extremely loud with both vehicular (many motor cycles) and pedestrian traffic. Many many beach gatherings very late into the night. Not the type of location I find relaxing; even though access to the lovely beach was only a few steps away.
The house is nicely decorated, although no bath towel rods. However, the kitchen presented a problem. The relator explained the microwave did work. It worked for one day and we had to duct tape the door closed to ensure people did not walk into the door. A safety problem. The ice maker deposited ice on the floor intermittently without being initiated by a human. The kitchen -- poorly equipped. Toasted did not work; no colander. This home has 5 bedrooms. There were four wine glasses and not sufficient tumblers, knives and more.
This was a very bad experience for me....traveled many miles and spent $#$ for a very disappointing and unpleasant, non relaxing experience. I left early as I was not enjoying this location.
Be honest. I don't want to over look a parking lot and listen to all that noise ...all day and most of the night.
The house is beautifully decorated, not your typical beach house.Beaches were more crowded than expected at this Fenwick location. We had to "save" our beach spot early., FYI, Not sure that I agree with the count of beds, only saw 2 legitimate twins, not 4. Renter will need to bring all amenities with them: bedding, dish towels, bath towels, hand towels for bathrooms, dish/bath soaps, toilet paper, and blankets(was quite chilly at night with just coverlets on the beds). All in all a good stay but do think a rental of this price should provide amenities.
In over 30 years of renting various properties on the Del/Md shores, we have never enjoyed a property as much as we enjoyed our two stays at Southpointe. This is a beautiful house, with comfortable, high quality furnishings, large inviting common areas for group gatherings, comfortable beds, ample bedrooms including two beautiful master suites and other nicely furnished bedrooms, clean, modern and roomy bathrooms, a convenient and ample laundry room, a pretty, well-equipped kitchen, and a full complement of beach equipment including chairs, boogie boards, etc. The owner has gone well beyond anything else I have experienced in this area in the quality of the furnishings and amenities and the attention to detail.
Our experience has been so positive that we were surprised and sad to see the one negative review, and felt compelled to comment. It is certainly true that Southpointe is not directly on the Ocean Front; as a result one should not expect the expansive water views you would get if the property were directly on the water; there are ocean views from a couple of the porches, though they are somewhat limited, just as the photos illustrate. However, I don't think that should come as a surprise from the rental information which does not hide the fact that the house is not directly on the beach. More importantly, being back a bit from the beach really did not diminish our enjoyment of the property at all. The porches are shaded with rocking chairs and comfortable, high quality furnishings. The garden view is charming. The short path to the beach is a few steps from the door. Yes, the beach will get crowded in the middle of the day during high season, but we also took many tranquil morning and later afternoon walks on the beach right outside the front door.
I also believe that the renter's experience with the cleanliness of the house must have been a one time occurrence. The place was spotless both of the times we rented (and we are pretty picky -- I have called rental agencies to reclean other units more than once),. Perusing other comments in the guest books, I think that most guests found the property to be in excellent condition. We did have one maintenance issue, and it was addressed fully and expeditiously by the rental company. Again, we have dealt with other agencies and other properties and can say without qualification that Southpointe was the best rental experience we have had in the Bethany/Rehoboth/OC/Fenwick. We look forward to visits
We were disappointed in this property. The house was not beachfront as described and was in a crowded area of Fenwick. The views from the decks were of houses to the front, back, and sides of the property, rather than the beach as described. Additionally, the house was not clean when we arrived, so we had to call the rental agent to have a cleaning crew come through (carpets aren still in desperate need of a shampoo).
The town of Fenwick - called the 'Quiet Resort' has restaurants, stores, and activities that are an easy walk from the house. The town hall has a good playground for children, a basketball half court, a shuffle board court and a picnic area. A few of our favorite restaurants include Nantucket's (a nice walk down the beach), Catch 54, Harpoon Hanna's, and Fenwick Crab House.
Rehoboth Beach - Located about a half hour from Fenwick Island, the town is much larger than Bethany and boasts many shopping and fine dining options. Make sure to enjoy the Delaware tax free benefits and shop at the 140+ outlets in Rehoboth.
Lewes: Is near Rehoboth and is a fabulous, quaint, old, former whaling village. There are many antique shops located in Lewes.
