We were a group of 5 and this property was perfect for our Spartan Race weekend. The place was spacious and comfortable for all of us. We relaxed and had morning coffee on balcony, were able to cook with all the provided essentials, and lounged by the fireplace. Wish we had time to use the hot tub, but that was definitely a plus. This was a memorable stay for all of us and we will definitely be back!
My wife and I rented the cabin for a week-long getaway in March. The place is spacious and open, with a well appointed kitchen and a fabulous hot tub on the deck. The property company personally welcomed us and even left gifts for the two of us and a separate one for our dog! Our dog may have enjoyed the place even more than we did -- plenty of great walks in the neighborhood, even into the National Forest just a few blocks away. We were 20 minutes from Squaw when it was time to ski, and 5 minutes from Garwood's when it was time for Apres. The place would comfortably fit two couples with great privacy, and could definitely take on another 3 people with ease. Loved the place.
We have an annual weekend away in Tahoe always over Memorial Day weekend. This was a great house to accommodate our group. Updated kitchen is great and very user friendly. The living room is spacious as is the entire house with its loft area with the extra beds. The deck is spacious and perfect for sitting outside or just catching some fresh air.
We recently stayed at Pineywood and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was very comfortable and had a wonderful gas fireplace that created a lovely atmosphere without the hassle of chopping wood. It was very well equipped even down to washing powder and dishwashing tablets! We enjoyed the hot tub - it was very clean and was actually serviced during our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded, quiet place with a natural forest setting. On arrival, it was a little difficult to find even with the excellent directions given by the rental company. But once we got to know the streets we had no trouble finding it again! The internet was fast, the location was beautiful and the house was decorated in true American country style. We loved this coming from Australia as we do!
My husband and I stayed at Pineywood over the long weekend for a ski and snowshoe getaway with friends and our dog, and found the house to be lovely. Aside from needing chains to get up to the house the first time, it was easy to find/get to and well located for our winter activities. When we arrived, the house was warm and there was a nice welcome binder of information. The hot tub was ready to go. The house was spotless with clean linens, and had everything that we needed for our weekend away.
We did have some maintenance issues with the house--a flashlight didn't work (batteries?), the garborator/sink disposal stopped working (we got it going again after a call to management), and the clothes dryer cycle knob broke/stopped turning so that it was difficult to dry clothes--that we had to work around. Management appeared very receptive to fixing these things, but not before we checked-out, which was OK since we were only there for a few days.
We would definitely stay at Pineywood again, and at another property managed by Tahoe Luxury Properties.
