This is a beautiful, quiet, ancient home with contemporary amenities, offering a panoramic view of the city. You can relax on a sunny patio in the garden - the garden is a somewhat unique feature in a city. Or you can listen to music in an unquestionably unique wine cellar in our recently rediscovered cave. The stone buildings have been renovated in detail and updated to include a modern kitchen, central heating, air conditioning, tiled bathrooms, marble floors, and lava stone kitchen counters. It is a short walk to the downtown center of restaurants and shopping, including local wine, cheese, produce, meat, clothing, stores and museums. Modica is famous for its chocolate and even has a Chocolate Museum. It is a twenty minute drive to the beach, there are numerous neighboring villages, historic sites and nature reserves to visit both near and far.
The property manager is Georgio. He speaks English, Italian and Sicilian and can help to arrange for services from simple translation to finding a Doctor or Dentist in an emergency. Possibilities exist to hire him as local as a guide with a car for 15 euros an hour and to have a local chef to come to the villa and prepare local favorite meals whenever you like.
Modica has many other resources such as cooking and language classes to deepen your appreciation and knowledge of its culture.
