This cabin was so warm and inviting. We really enjoyed all this property had to offer. Our first night was filled with floating in the pond, ping pong and a few games of charades. The home was immaculate and well stocked. It was nice to have the use of the kayaks as well. We cooked meals every night but one and the kitchen had everything we needed. This was our first trip to Lake Lure. We mostly floated in the pond and enjoyed the views from the back porch. My husband and son played golf at Rambling Bald and thought it was a beautiful course. My daughter and her boyfriend did a mountain bike trail that was only 15 min away. They also did Chimney Rock. We spent a day in Asheville which was a bit of a drive but worth the trip to Sierra Nevada! Lastley, we checked out the public beach at Lake Lure. Was very quaint and nice, I would recommend this for families with young children. All in all be really just enjoyed being together in a new place to explore and this cabin gave us just that !
Perfect property for a private weekend getaway
At first we were hesitant to book the property because we wanted to book something on Lake Lure and close to all the attractions. After getting to the property we realized that was a blessing in disguise. The property is on a much smaller lake or pond with it's own personal beach area and dock. Much more quiet and personal for our group to enjoy our time without interruption of other people trying to enjoy their own vacation. The views from the back deck were amazing. The house has entertainment for group trips with enough space for everyone to have some privacy. Our trip was planned with several activities (Lake Lure Beach, Hiking, etc.) that we ended up skipping because we were able to fulfill all our vacation needs from the cabin itself. We would definitely love to book this property again.
Weekend was too short!
We were very happy to find this home clean and stocked. The owners really thought of every detail. We were a group of 6: 4 adults, and 2 kids.. That was the perfect size group. Possibly 2 more kids. More than that may have felt cramped. The little lake is quaint, and just large enough to enjoy the kayaks and canoe. The kitchen was well stocked. There were working tv's with satellite dish, and we also enjoyed the little night lights throughout. The view from the upper deck was so so beautiful. We found ourselves enjoying morning coffee, and evening wine from up there. Our family is already talking about when we can go back. The only thing that was a downside is the walk down to the water. It is pretty steep, so someone who is not very stable on their feet should know that. Luckily we are all able bodied. We really really loved Limerick Lodge!
This place is great! Very quiet little neighborhood. The hill leading down to the lake is pretty steep but we made the best of it! This house offers plenty to do from the games downstairs to swimming or kayaking with GREAT bass fishing! We loved sitting on the big porch! We were there 3 nights and we never had to leave the cabin to find something to do. The house has everything you need to cook with and more! I can’t say enough great things about this place and our time there!
Fabulous property with great amenities. We had a great time.
We loved staying at Limerick Lodge. There were 4 adults, one 8 year old, one 22 month old and one 8 month old and we had plenty of room and privacy. The entertainment room downstairs ( pool table, ping pong table, fossball, TV and game station) was a big hit. We made a fire in the fire pit one night and went fishing ( and caught a fish) one day. I was surprised at the high quality of the sheets and towels. Also supplied were soap. Although we brought hair dryers, there were several. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you might need, including condiments and the gas grill was a wonderful plus. Except for the bear getting in the trash can's ( despite the bungee cords), which was bit of a surprise and concern and a few issues with the hot water, nothing could be improved above. We will definitely return!
cabin was well maintained and extremely clean. there were several different sitting areas and plenty of games. TVs throughout the cabin, all with direct tv. wifi and cellular service was a little sketchy but that is to be expected in the mountains. Even though there were several other cabins in the area when we were sitting out back it felt very private. The cabin is not on lake lure but rather a medium sized pond. To get to the lake lure area it takes approximately 15 minutes. other than that we would definitely stay here again.
