The house was very comfortable and Paul could not be a better host. Easy access to downtown.
Cozy, modern well appointed home with friendly and helpful host
My two friends and I went on an epic journey from Bellingham, WA by the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) thru to Ketchikan, Juneau and finally to Skagway.
Paul was very accommodating and allowed us to check in a little early. He was also very welcoming and gave good tips on the area. The house is spacious and two of us had bedrooms and I slept on a very comfortable roll up mattress that Paul had.
The kitchen is well stocked and equipped and all appliances are very modern.
The house itself is a few short blocks to 10th and Spring where our train for the Laughton Glacier (highlight of our whole trip) left from. A few short blocks beyond that was the center of town.
We really enjoyed our stay in Skagway with the towering mountains surrounding us, the hospitality and of course the WP&YR!
Thanks Paul and enjoy your stay!
Great time in Skagway!!
We spent a week in Skagway and truly enjoyed the accommodations. Great location away from the cruise passenger crowds. Quiet with comfortable beds. Washer, dryer, gas grill, kitchen and excellent stereo/TV with Apple TV. Paul was responsive and checked to make sure we had everything we needed.
Chris, so happy to hear that you and your party enjoyed your stay! It was a pleasure hosting you and hope you return soon.
Clean and comfortable
Excellent home for my family of 4. Had everything we needed for our week in Skagway, plus more! House was clean, quiet and comfortable. Easy walking to downtown restaurants, brewery, and grocery store. Paul, the owner, could not have been any nicer or more helpful. We are already talking about our return.
Great house in pefect location
We stayed here for two days after hiking the Chilkoot trail. Clean, well-appointed, comfortable home with great location in Skagway. Easy walking distance to the "downtown" areas. Nice to be able to cook meals without having to go out all the time, and to have washer/dryer to wash all our hiking clothes. Owner was friendly and responsive. Would highly recommend.
We struck gold in Skagway with this home!
With windows galore and light hardwood floors, this home was bright and cheery! The owner, Paul, was more than hospitable and quick to respond. We were pleased with the home's open feel and cleanliness and all the amenities you would ever need, including the gas grill to enjoy outdoor family meals on the patio, a fully stocked kitchen with many small appliances, comfortable beds and pillows, new towels and linens, light blocking blinds (you know that summer sun doesn't like to set!), outdoor seating, fenced-in yard, and the use of two bicycles (which we used ALL the time, as we didn't have a car the entire time we were in Skagway!). We stayed in the home for a week during the busiest part of the summer...cruise ship travelers in town every day. However, because the house was located at the opposite end of the port, it was so quiet that we had no idea there were others around! In addition to exploring on bikes, we could easily walk to buy groceries, go to the library, visit the historical museum, dine at the local eateries/breweries (SO yummy!), take in the local walking tours, shop, and HIKE, HIKE, HIKE! There were several breathtaking trails a few blocks from the house and the White Pass Train was a block away. We were tickled to go on many excursions while in town. We flew in a helicopter to the Meade Glacier with TEMSCO (a must do!), took the White Pass Train to hike to the Laughton Glacier, and took the train again the next day into Canada to kayak. We loved this home and will definitely be booking with Paul again...that is, unless we move there first!
