Such a cute house, very clean and so close to the beach. This is the first time I've stayed in a house that provides every type of kitchen supplies. We were able to cook some meals and enjoyed our stay. It was pet friendly and a dog park up the street and the beach was about a 5-7 min walk. The patio was great with a grill. It was perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation with the pups. Thank you.
Clean and comfortable home with all the amenities
We were so happy with our stay. The property was recently renovated and very clean. The size of the house was very comfortable for our family of four (young children). The back patio was so cute and convenient. Lots of beach equipment and a great washer and dryer in the garage. Check in was a dream and the management was very responsive and helpful when I checked in a day early by mistake. Fabulous property and management!
Great place for 2
Cute property about 2 blocks from beach.
fun in the sun
We loved our little home away from home near the beach. It was cozy and comfortable. We had internet problems on the first day and had an almost immediate response from the manager and had better speeds than we ever have at home. The kitchen was updated and we cooked many wonderful meals.
Trip in la Jolla
Amazing time in La Jolla with my wife and daughter. Enjoy that we were close to the beach and safe bike path from home to Mission Beach. Also walking distance from coffee shop and La Jolla pool
Convenient location but ridiculous Dog rules/not as described
We booked this place for 4 nights, which was a lot for us and our big trip this year. The reason we booked it was to bring our dogs to SD! It allowed dogs but we didn't know UNTIL had booked that could not leave unattended at any time. That was the whole point of not getting a hotel! Then it was advertised as having grass and an area in the back... well , that area was occupied by other renters' unit and although they were very nice, it felt too awkward to go over there! And one window of our bedroom was overlooking this area! So not set up well in that way at all. My husband walked around the other unit to get to garage each time (not through). We had a tiny patio, which back to having dogs, wasn't helpful. It really should not have been described as part of the rental on our unit's side.
Finally, the AC is why we booked it with having dogs. It was one wall unit, and of all places, over the kitchen table we didn't use. Was VERY warm and stuffy In back bedroom, until later at night.
Positives are not far from Beach and very clean. (But not updated at all). When think of how much we paid, it really bums me out, didn't relax much bringing dogs everywhere all 4 days for everything. Also signs about "grumpy about everything" nearby neighbors didn't help either! Honestly, wish had just done a hotel with dogs.
Our first VRBO experience, and sad about it!
About the area: "La Jolla"
One of the top beach destinations in the world!
With a dramatic coastline boasting incredible views, it's no surprise that La Jolla is one of the most popular beach destinations in California. Surrounded on three sides by the sea and backed by the steep slopes of Mt. Soledad, La Jolla's natural beauty, abundance of activities and upscale village lifestyle ensure that it lives up to its nickname as "the jewel" of San Diego.
Consistently voted one of the top beach destinations in the world, La Jolla offers a wide range of accommodations from luxurious hotels to casual coastal retreats, along with museums and art galleries, one-of-a-kind boutiques, great restaurants and a slew of outdoor activities. Home to the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the scenic cliff area offers well-groomed hiking trails with spectacular views, and world-class golf. At Torrey Pines Gliderport you can soar out over the beach cliffs on a hang glider or just relax and watch the action above.
Along the dramatic coastline lies Scripps Park, where families can picnic throughout the summer, while enjoying Fourth of July fireworks and concerts under the stars. Just south of the park is the Childrens Pool, where a seawall was originally built to protect kids from incoming waves, but has been long taken over by a local seal colony. People are no longer permitted to swim here, but you can walk out along the seawall for a close-up view of the wildlife.
La Jolla is also home to Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography and plenty of cultural attractions including the La Jolla Playhouse and the Museum of Contemporary Art, all situated in close proximity to The Village. The University of California San Diego, which hosts the popular Geisel Library and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, are both located in La Jolla as well.
La Jolla's biggest draw for locals and visitors alike are the beautiful beaches. During the summer and autumn months, the surf is relatively gentle, with warm waters in 70s. Swimmers, snorkelers, scuba divers, kayakers and surfers can enjoy the golden sands of La Jolla Shores, the Cove and Windansea. And be sure to keep an eye out for migrating whales off the coast as they travel to and from Baja California.
