If you should feel like you need to explore beyond the National Forest and your cozy cabin home, there are a multitude of things to do in nearby areas. We are only one hour and fifteen minutes from Monarch Ski Resort and Woodland Park is close by where there is great dining, the Dinosaur Museum, and shopping. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and Museum is around the corner and Colorado Springs is just down the pass. If you feel like gambling you can be in the historic mining town of Cripple Creek in no time.

During the winter, you will enjoy sledding down a hill on the property and playing in the snow. Only 1 hour 25 minutes to skiing.

In the fall come visit this mountain home to see the beautiful changing of the Aspen leaves. The famous Gold Belt Tour Scenic Byway is a ‘must do’ drive during the autumn season.

And of course, summer time in the Rockies is unmatched. The Aspens are in full bloom and a sprinkling of wildflowers splash color across the landscape.

This is the Pikes Peak backcountry in all its splendor. Enjoy. * Please note a $200 fully refundable damage deposit is required. We do not include this in the auto-rates with VRBO as we do not cash these upon receipt, but shred them after departure as a courtesy for our guests.

It was perfect. Nature at is best

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect. A little secluded, but so peaceful. We had the deer come right to the door of the cabin. Marc & Angel were very friendly and helpful with all the information of where to go. We loved it, we would recommended. Had everything we needed to cook, all channels you needed to watch, the WIFI was a little slow but there. Excellent. Their details in the cabin were so perfect you can tell it has been made with love. You feel right at home and love all the birds that come to the bird feeders in the morning. A+++++++++

Nice home in quiet setting

  • 5 of 5

This is a nice cabin with plenty of room to spread out. It is very quiet and relaxing. It is close enough to attractions in Co Springs yet in a very country setting. The owner was very quick to respond and allowed us to add an extra night at the last minute after our plans changed. I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

The house is awesome. The location is perfect. If you love to watch wildlife this is the place. Saw deer, lots of chipmunks, all kinds of birds, and even had a cat visit on the last day. The steller's blue jay which is only found at the elevations this house is at were amazing to watch. Plenty of room inside. The beds are really comfortable. Marc and Angel are really easy to work with and make sure you have all the info you need in plenty of time. The only downside was when it was time to leave for home. Would not hesitate to rent again!

Location is unbeatable

  • 5 of 5

Kids loved exploring the 5 acres of property. Wildlife was amazing with chipmunks and deer. The cabin itself was extremely well put together and had everything a family could ever want. Loved how remote the cabin was and how you felt like you were in a completely different world. Perfect vacation get away!

SERENITY

  • 5 of 5

This vacation was absolutely and truly pure "SERENITY'. So quiet and peaceful, you could lose yourself and be mesmerized by the scenery of majestic mountains surrounding the forest. Any visitors such as the deer, elk, and chipmunks bring such an amazing sense of comfort and beauty all at once. I cannot say enough of the cabin itself; so quaint, spacious and comfortable. The layout and amenities were just as listed. Well-maintained and very clean. The surrounding areas were so close to visit. Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, and the Royal Gorge to name a few. The deer trail was my absolute favorite hike on the property. Sitting areas where you can enjoy a good book or just sit and listen to the forest tales of everlasting serenity. Such a beautiful place to stay. I will definitely recommend this listing.

Beautiful home beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

The home was more that we expected. The pictures do not do this home justice. The beds were very comfortable. We had ample room for our kids to explore. The first morning we were there we were greeted by a deer by the porch. The chipmunks were there every day. We were able to cook three nights while we were there. I wish we could have done this more and enjoyed the sunsets. Marc and Angel were very helpful and informative. The home was very clean and smelled amazing. In the book, they gave us suggestions of places to eat, where grocery stores are located, and beautiful drives to take. I would absolutely recommend this place to others. We ate at McGintry's the last part of our vacation. We wish we had earlier. Their pizza pies are delicious. Do not eat at Denny's. We ate there one morning for breakfast. We waited for over an hour on our food. The waiter hardly came back while we were waiting. When he finally brought us our food, we did not have silverware. Instead of him going to get it after I asked him for it, he turned to another table to take an order. Our food was already cold. I was floored that he did not go get our silverware. The Hungry Bear is good for breakfast. We went white water rafting. I would highly suggest echo canyons for this activity. We went with another company this year and were highly disappointed. Garden of the Gods is beautiful. Santa's workshop is fun for the kids. Pikes Peak Cog train, Seven Falls, and Helen Hunt falls are other activities I would suggest. Thank you Marc and Angel for letting us enjoy your home. We hope to return soon.
