Wonderful stay in a beautiful apartment
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Paris, the apartment was everything we hoped and Olivier was a kind and welcoming host. He was accommodating of both our arrival and departure times allowing us to leave our cases with him on our last day so we could enjoy every minute of our time in Paris.
The apartment was comfortable and was a wonderful place to return to at the end of each busy day in Paris and Olivier was happy for my partner to make full use of his extensive music collection and was happy for us to use anything that was in the kitchen.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone it is in the most beautiful building and in a lovely area of Paris we will certainly use this apartment again when we return to Paris.
The accommodation was comfortable and stylish in an excellent location. Quiet, clean and safe.
Everything one would want out of an Art Deco loft in monmarte.
Ideal Location in Desirable Montmartre
Returning to Montmartre after staying there before, we knew where we wanted to stay. We were thrilled to find this comfortable and roomy apartment in a beautiful Art Deco building right where we wanted to be. Easy access to metro, great chocolatier and patisserie. Good markets and bistros within a couple minute walk.
The apartment was exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well appointed. And, although we did not use them, there was a dishwasher, washer/dryer, iron, etc.
Olivier was the perfect host, very helpful and responsive, even meeting us quite early in the morning for both our arrival and departure. It should be noted that there was no lift and the apartment was on the first floor, so several flights of stairs to navigate with luggage.
Nice Location -- Uncomfortable Stay
We recently stayed in this Montmartre apartment. The location is very nice, however, the apartment itself was not as comfortable as we had hoped and the owner was, in the end, very unpleasant to deal with.
--The owner was quick to respond to my initial inquiry, and to confirm our dates.
--The owner's representative was an hour late to meet us for check in (on a rainy afternoon, after flying with two children from California to Paris).
--Upon entering the apartment it felt very much like we had interrupted something (food still in the refrigerator and on the counter; trash still in the trash cans; hair in the bathtub; etc).
--The apartment is absolutely filled with the owner's belongings, which made it very difficult to find a place to put our own belongings. The living room floor was our only real option.
--The furniture is lacking. By way of example -- At one point my daughter, who was sitting on the couch, asked about the source of a "crunchy" sound. It was the duct tape holding the couch together (concealed by a fabric covering). The apartment also lacks a table and chairs to use while having a meal.
--We received multiple phone calls in the middle of the night while there (especially unpleasant since we were dealing with the first couple of days of jetlag). Since the phone is attached to an older style answering machine we were able to hear the messages being left. My teenage daughter, who speaks French, informed me that these were "booty" calls.
--And all of this pales next to the treatment we received over our check out. We received a text from the owner demanding that we leave at 9:15 am. I have rented many homes, and this is much earlier than I've ever seen requested by any homeowner. When I suggested a time a bit later (and reminded him that I was with two children, and that his own representative had arrived late to check us in at the beginning of our stay) he simply said "it's impossible." When he arrived to check us out he was hostile. He also declared that the apartment was his and he could take it any time he wanted. And while I certainly would not ever dispute that a homeowner is entitled to his or her home, the fact is that he had made an agreement to rent his to us.
Overall, I could not recommend a stay here.
Sinceramente, no tenemos ninguna queja. 100 % recordable.
