About Kelli Hoffman
NEW OWNERS! The Hoffmans live in Lancaster County, PA but fell in love with the Finger Lakes when they visited for the first time back in 2013. They are outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy hiking, fishing and paddling along with their two American Alsatians, Windy & Odin.

Why Kelli Hoffman chose Bradford
We chanced upon Heron Hideaway on our first ever vacation to the Finger Lakes, and enjoyed the cottage as renters. While the whole area is beautiful, we loved Lamoka Lake right away, because it's perfect for fishing and paddling our canoes and kayaks. When we returned years later and had the opportunity to purchase the cottage, it was a no-brainer.
What makes this Cottage unique
We've never stayed in a place that was so peaceful and relaxing. Who doesn't love a cozy little cottage where you can wake up and enjoy a beautiful view of the lake from the porch with your morning coffee? Sure we're biased, but we believe it's one of the best lots on the entire lake - beautiful views, private, a great dock and excellent fishing. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!

Great stay on a great lakes. Secluded little getaway. Loved it.
Lovely, peaceful, a little gem.
In a nutshell: I'd recommend this spot. Quiet, peaceful, simply and tastefully decorated (not full of horrid Americana clutter or other such things not my preference). The lake is quiet and that was a plus, we were there to canoe and kayak and relax, not have a loud BBQ with a speed boat, etc. The owner was easy to reach and accommodating when we had to cancel one night at the last minute, I really appreciate such flexibility.
One caveat: I printed up the instructions but did not see where it said bring your own linens and towels. This was the one drawback, flying with linens and towels is inconvenient and we arrived with none and had to buy some. If I was driving only it would be no big deal. Regardless, this place was a nice respite during a difficult trip dealing with aging and sick parents, I was grateful to be there in such a lovely setting, I'd definitely go back. Also, having a canoe and kayak included in the price was another plus; other places cost similar but wanted extra to rent onsite kayak/canoes, I felt that was too greedy and was another reason I went with this locale and not another.
We loved staying here for our tip! The cabin had everything we needed and the location is close to everything you could want to do in the area.
All I wanted and more!
Beautiful, serene, and peaceful with all the comforts of home. Hope to return again!
Relaxing by the lake.
We really enjoyed our stay. Very pleasant and enjoyable time. Screen door sticking was really the only issue we had during our stay. Would definitely recommend to everyone and I hope to stay again.
So glad you had a great time - hope to see you back again in the future! And we'll definitely get that screen door taken care of!
Fabulous Hidden Gem
We have stayed in the Finger Lakes region many times over the last 10 years. And, we have stayed in a variety of properties on Keuka, Seneca, and Waneta. This was our first stay on Lamoka Lake and it was the perfect spot for a quiet, romantic getaway for my husband and I.
This is such a prime location because you can access either of the larger lakes with ease (Hammondsport is about 15 minutes. Watkins Glen is about 20-25 minutes). It's also very quiet. And, we've found that both Waneta and Lamoka (the two smaller lake) are very family friendly.
You access the property down a long dirt lane. Plus, there is plenty of grassy outdoor area for picnicking, playing, a campfire, etc. While there are neighbors on either side, they aren't right up against you like at some other locations. There's plenty of elbow room and privacy.
The dock is perfect for fishing. And, my husband also enjoyed kayaking around the lake. We also enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife - several families of geese with their goslings, many other types of birds including a heron, and a happy little muskrat who seemed to live under the dock and swam out from time to time to grab some of the shoreline vegetation.
The cottage itself is unassuming and it is small. But, as I mentioned, it was perfect for just my husband and I. And, we talked about the fact that we think we could bring our four boys along sometime and still all fit very comfortably.
The cottage looks like it was one of the original cottages on the lake and it still carries a good bit of vintage charm, which I love! My favorite room was the sun room in the front. Long and roomy and sunny....I sat in this room to drink my coffee in the morning and enjoy the beauty around me. The windows in the sunroom open with screens to let in the breeze. And, I love that this room still has the original floorboards!
When we arrived, everything was clean and we found everything we needed. With this property you do bring your own linens and towels. One thing we will make note of as we plan for a future visit is not to forget to bring handtowels, dishtowels, and dishcloths as well. We just didn't think of that as we were packing.
The bed we slept in was super comfortable. And, it is so quiet at night. Makes for wonderful relaxation!
In addition, Kelli was so friendly and very responsive and easy to communicate with. We appreciate that they shared their home with us. We will definitely make a return visit!
Karen, thanks so much for your kind words! We look forward to having you back again!
