Rue de l'Odeon is amongst the most beautiful and well-preserved streets in the sixth area of of Paris. It runs from the Théatre de l'Odeon which is just behind the Luxembourg Gardens down the Boulevard Saint Germain. The streets wide and quiet,( there is very little traffic), and has a mixture of small clothes boutiques, antique shops, rare book dealers, and chicinterior decorators.
The apartment which is 770 square feet is on the sixth floor of a classical 19th century building.A recently installed elevator comes to the fifth floor.
The front of the apartment overlooks the street and there is a quiet courtyard to the rear. It is full of light with views over the roof tops of the city. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two toilets. The largest of the bedrooms (which overlooks the street) has a fireplace, a large wardrobe, and a king size bed which can be split into two singles. The bathroom (which has a bath tub) and toilet are opposite. The smaller bedroom has a queen sized bed (which can also be divided), a wardrobe, and a desk. A shower room and toilet are opposite.
The bedrooms are equipped with good quality bed-linen and duvets. The living room is large and very light with old beams and a working fireplace. There are wooden floors throughout the apartment. There is a large sofa , modern armchairs and a dining table that will seat six people. There is a large flat screen television with cable connection giving access to CNN, BBC etc. and a good quality radio and stereo system. For guests who want to use their own computer there is a high speed wireless internet connection. There is air conditioning in the livingroom to keep the the temperatures comfortable during the summer months. The kitchen, which has a window overlooking the courtyard, was installed in 2007 and has all the modern amenities.
The apartment was completely restored and refurbished in 2007 with the object of creating a stylish and comfortable living space with the best quality furnishing, fittings and equipment.
Prices include weekly cleaning and change of bed-linen. We also provide 2 cell phone, a 'starter kit' of food basics (coffee, tea, salt, pepper, butter, oil, vinegar, juice, milk, bottles water) or more on demand .
Time and dates of arrival are free and a staff will be greeting you at your arrival.
Terrific location, perfect for a family of four. Centrally located a few steps from Saint Germain, Latin Quarter and Luxembourg Gardens. Two bedrooms, both of which you can do as twins OR kings. Washrooms a bit tight but there are two. Owner easy to work with, and the meet and greet service was very welcoming. Nice but small kitchen with microwave, small clothes washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. Also has AC which is great in July/August. A few upgrades in order but overall was just right for the price and can't beat the location.
We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Rue de L'Odeon apartment. I did a lot of research to come up with a 2 bedroom (one with 6 ft King bed) and 2 bathroom residence with washer and dryer and this apartment fit the bill perfectly! Henri, the owner, was always very responsive in making our initial reservations. The location was amazing. It is literally a 1 minute walk to the Odeon metro station, and steps away from great restaurants. We hit Le Hibou for our petit dejeuner most mornings and Little Breizh is only a few blocks away and has the best crepes ever! In addition, Georges Larnicol is around the corner for macaroon fixes. Unfortunately the public works was doing street repairs outside, so that was our alarm clock at 7:30 every morning (not a big deal since there was plenty of sightseeing to do!) and one day they shut off the gas leaving us with no hot water, but Henri promptly offered us compensation as soon as he was aware of the situation. There was plenty of closet space in the rooms to hang our clothes. The master bedroom had a smoky smell which I figured out was likely from the 150 year old + fireplace in the room. We just opened the window during the day to air it out a bit. It didn't bother my husband and I got used to it. There were plenty of paper and cleaning products for our 5 day stay and we only needed to hit the local convenience store around the corner for snacks, drinks and fruit. The combo washer/dryer and dishwasher worked fine. The elevator, while small, runs quickly and we generally only used it to take our suitcases up and down and to go upstairs at the end of the day. I would recommend this apartment as a great place to stay for a family who likes to have a little extra room to spread out!
This is a fantastic apartment in one of the best neighborhoods in Paris. There were four of us with two boys, 9 and 11. Henri did a great job of coordinating with us ahead of time and arranged to have us met at the apartment. The apartment is spacious (for downtown Paris) with plenty of room for our family. It has a small, well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and (tiny) washing machine. There is A/C in the living room that does cool somewhat but we needed to leave windows open on warmer days. The neighborhood is fantastic with many restaurants, bistros, bars, and patisseries but it can be a pricey area. The street is actually very quiet despite how many things are nearby so noise is not a problem. Metro is a short walk and the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens are right next store. One concern that some may have is that the lift only goes to the fourth floor and the apartment is on the fifth, so you need to climb one flight.
All in all, we had a great stay and I would highly recommend it.
My family, kids ages 12 and 9, just returned from a week in Paris and I wanted to quickly leave feedback on Henri's apartment to help those who were uncertain where to stay with your family. This is it!! This location would be hard to beat. This apartment in on a relatively quiet street in the left bank. There is a metro stop 1 block away that easily gets you to any sights you want to see that aren't walking distance. But, walking in this area is the best way to enjoy it. Sights along the Seine, countless restaurants and shopping are all within a nice, beautiful walk. Two very current restaurants are on the same block. There are grocery stores very close but the St. germain market is 2 blocks away with fresh produce, cheeses, meats to choose from.
The apartment itself is well-furnished with a full kitchen that had everything we needed. The front bedroom has a firm but comfortable bed. There will be a little street noise as people leave the restaurants to head home. The other bedroom with two twins was quiet and comfortable for our kids. There is a lift that goes to the 4th floor with just 1 more flight of stairs to walk if you are tired after sightseeing!
Henri was so easy to communicate with. I am keeping this place for future trips…would definitely stay again!

We are a family of four with kids aged 7 and 10 and were in Paris for 4 nights. We chose Henri's apartment based on its location, size, clean/newer look and price. We could not have chosen a better place. Henri's apartment was even better and more spacious than we expected.
Location - This is in the heart of the city. The metro is only a block away but 50% of what you want to see in Paris is no more than a 15 or 20 minute walk. There are a handful of great restaurants in the neighborhood, multiple bakeries and coffee shops around(plus there's a Starbucks a block away), and a large grocery store 2 blocks away. Perfect location.
Building - It's in a very nice building on a nice street(it does get a little loud in the middle of the night b/c the street is a cut through for people coming home from the restaurants/bars). It has an elevator that is very convenient for hauling gear and avoiding the stairs given that the apartment is on the top floor.
Apartment - My impression was that it was very clean....all white walls, minimal clutter, contemporary furniture and very light. It has a large bedroom on the left as you walk in, a bathroom on the right, and it then opens into a large living space that has a wall of windows to let in the light and fresh air. Off to the right of the family room is a hall that takes you to a small bath, a second bedroom and the kitchen, which is new and has all the amenities(including a washer/dryer - which I have to say was KEY - we did a load of laundry daily). It's a little tight on space, but that didn't matter. They have every utensil, dish, bowl, pan, etc. that you would ever need. The bedrooms both had tons of closet space.
Comfort - The beds and the pillows were super comfortable - I'm very particular about both. The kids slept on twin beds in their room and said they were great. The living room had a comfortable couch and two chairs that were pretty good. The dining chairs also worked well, and with my mom and her friend also being in town provided enough seating for us all. We immediately felt at home here.
Owners - The communication with, Henri, was fast, efficient and friendly. The process to rent it was painless and Henri provided plenty of useful info. We had accidentally left a load of laundry in the washer and emailed Henri the next day about it. We thought for sure that we would never see them again, but sure enough he mailed them right out.
Bottom Line = This is an absolute must rent unit!!
