About Pip Lustgarten
I came to Albuquerque from England 18 years ago and never left! I know this city like the back of my hand, have a Master's degree in Southwest/Chicano Studies, and love to share my insights on local history, culture and places to visit. All are welcome here. Solo female travelers can feel comfortable renting from another woman (as well as knowing that the windows and doors have security bars). Couples will find the space to be very private and quiet, yet still walking distance to great restaurants. I am active in the New Mexico film and theatre scene and love hosting visiting industry folks. The property is well suited to long term rentals as it has a large fridge, washer and dryer, off street parking and lots of storage space. I give my guests complete privacy but am available should any problems arise. Hablo español; je parle français; falo português.

This unit is terrific and very quiet. We always felt secure and comfortable. And it is close to "Old Town" Albuquerque. We had off-street parking and our own patio to relax after a day of sightseeing. Pip had everything well supplied, we got our groceries and settled in for a week! No problem getting around in ABQ, we had a great time! We highly recommend her place!
Thanks for taking the time to leave me a great review! I really enjoyed hosting you, and appreciate that you left the casita in great shape.
This darling casita was the perfect haven for my husband and I while we were in Albuquerque for 5 days for a Richard Rohr conference at the convention center. It was an easy 10 to 15 minute walk to the convention center making it nice to be able to attend the meetings and then get away from the crowds at the end of the day. The location was also within walking distance of Old Town and the Rio Grande trail and convenient to the airport and the Petroglyphs.
The unit was quite nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was up to date with fluffy towels. The complete unit was recently redone with beautiful hard wood floors. It has a complete kitchen, laundry and dining room. Pip provided detergent, paper towels, coffee, tea, olive oil and salt and pepper. So nice to have those basics. There is also a small grocery 2 -3 blocks away. A very nice tapas restaurant , although on the expensive side, The Cellar is across form the grocery. The Slate Cafe is also nearby and is a good neighborhood restaurant. There is also a Pizza Hut and Subway nearby. Pip was very helpful before and during our stay. A perfect retreat house for business or vacation travel!
Jane: you and Stan were such a delight- engaging to talk to and appreciative of everything I work hard to provide. I'm so glad you had a great conference and a great experience at my place.
Very pleased with our stay.
Tranquil and soothing setting - feels almost bucolic yet located conveniently. Pleasant and accommodating hostess. If you are looking for quiet sanctuary, this is the place.
I'm so glad this was a peaceful retreat for the two of you. Come back soon!
Comfortable and well stock Casita
Situated 1/2 way between Downtown Albuquerque and Old Town Albuquerque, with both within walking distance, this little house was a great location for my 5 day stay in Albuquerque. The host was accommodating and I appreciated her willingness to accommodate my scheduling needs. The place was very clean, private and secure. I would recommend this to anyone and I'll consider it one of my best lodging options when I go back to Albquerque next time.
Thanks for the great review, Doug! I'll look forward to hosting you again when you're next in town.
Great location-loved the neighborhood and walking distance to stores-restaurants and old town
Clean-comfortable. Friendly owner.
Thank you, Marci! It was a real pleasure hosting you and meeting your family.
Spacious, sunny, cozy casita
The casita was even more lovely than I could have hoped from the photos. It is comfortable, very clean, and has many thoughtful touches throughout. The host left the fluffiest towels for me to use and has stocked the casita with everything I needed (first aid kit, kitchen appliances and utensils, laundry detergent, etc.). It gets lovely morning sun and has its own private courtyard. It's very private and the host is very respectful of your privacy but also more than willing to make recommendations and answer questions. I'm so happy that I selected this listing. Other wonderful things:: the washer & dryer are modern and work beautifully; off-street parking; walking distance to restaurants; tasteful decor; very comfortable bed.
Wendy: Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. I'm so glad to know that all those little touches that I strive to provide are appreciated.
