Barb & Dennis Clare
About Barb & Dennis Clare
Dennis & Barb Clare are retired aviation professionals with a passion for the outdoors. We have a large, blended family of 6 kids with spouses and grandchildren. Active in our church and community, we are blessed to call these 37 acres our home.
Barb & Dennis Clare purchased this Bed And Breakfast in 2016
Why Barb & Dennis Clare chose National City
Dennis is an avid hunter and fisherman, Barb is a riding enthusiast. We have worked hard to develop pasture acreage and maintain and create new trails for riding and hiking. Just a short drive to the Tawas City area to the East or West Branch to the West, we are in a tranquil setting just on the edge of the Huron National Forest.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
Bringing your horse and being able to board for a few days or a week makes it easier to sight see the area while knowing your horse is cared for. During pasture season, your horse will have access to a fenced in paddock with water and shelter. There's plenty of room to park your trailer and camp. Electric Hookups are available if you opt to not rent the Bunkhouse. (no dump station) All profits from your stay are used to provide scholarships for families needing therapeutic riding for their child here at Pegasus Springs. Thank You for your support!

Bed, breakfast & horse stable review
Barb & Dennis are wonderful people they made us feel right at home. And Barb's cooking is down home cooking she served up a 5 star breakfast! I was highly impressed by their commitment to serve the handicapped through safety coordinated field trips of their horse stables. Thanks to Barb & Dennis for a wonderful stay!

National city, Mi best kept secret
Beautiful property, perfect for a short getaway with my daughter. Easy drive to so many beautiful surrounding towns. Barb and Dennis were perfect hosts so warm and friendly. You are surrounded by nature. It’s quiet, calm, serene tranquil. Great place to get away from it all. Barbs blueberry pancakes are fantastic We will definitely be back.
I was in the area visiting friends at a nearby lakefront cabin. In the evening I just wanted peace and quiet. I found peace & quiet at this location. The room was comfortable, clean, and air conditioned. The breakfast in the morning was homemade & yummy. I look forward to my next visit.
Amazing, restful visit
We really enjoyed our stay. Dennis and Barb were wonderful hosts, that we now consider friends! The property was very clean and well kept. Breakfasts were amazing. We stayed a week and each time we came back to the property, we felt like we were coming home. We love the fact that profits are used for horse therapy visits for people at risk. Thank you for a great time at a beautiful location!
