A lovely house, near to Union Station.
There were 10 of us staying in this house, and it was more than equipped for us all. Our hosts had kindly left us some essentials, and more. It was spotlessly clean, with an abundance of bedding & toweks. The house was a couple of minutes walk to a free tram, which stopped outside of Union Station. Also a short walk to two supermarkets. Ideally placed to explore the City. Our hosts were easily contacable, also extremely helpful and obliging. We would not hesitate to use it again or highly recommend it.
Lovely townhouse just minutes from it all!
We really enjoyed our week-long stay! The hosts were generous, ready and willing to answer questions before, during, and after our stay, and checked in on us! There is ample sleeping space in nice accommodating bedrooms but some of the mattresses upstairs were really uncomfortable. The property was updated after we booked so it wasn't clear how many bedrooms/beds there were... downstairs: king size master; upstairs: 1 bedroom with queen bed and attached private full bath, 1 bedroom queen bed with half bath, 3 bedrooms with 1 full bed in each.
The bathrooms and kitchen were well stocked with all you might need and we never ran out of clean towels. Also having a full-sized washer and dryer on-site (during the DC summer) was exceptionally helpful.
There are many restaurants (of all kinds) and two grocery stores all within walking distance. The best and most affordable way to get around was to grab the free DC Streetcar trolley (only one block away) to Union Station and then grab the free DC circulator from there. It was nice to be just far enough away from the mall and everything else that once you got to the union station area, things weren't nearly as busy or crowded. We were not nearly as comfortable in the neighborhood (outside the house, that is) at night. Things felt fine during the day but once it got dark, things seemed less safe in the surrounding area.
If staying with young children: there is a set of fairly steep stairs. There is not a baby gate available and the stair railing isn't necessarily conducive to a gate either. Be prepared to police the stairs during your stay.
In DC, always be prepared to walk more than you expect! Great vacation, great hosts, great property.
Great place for a big family
Plenty of room for all of us (3 teens, 1 pre-teen, 5 adults) Walking distance from the free trolley, Whole Foods, and some great restaurants. Perfectly located to play tourist. Everything was comfortable, and we really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was.
Three families in this house was great fun!
Very quick and easy; one block from public transportation! Would do it again!
Wonderful home with quick access to downtown D.C.
We were very well taken care of during our short visit to D.C. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms meant that everyone could have their privacy but we could also comfortably gather together as a group. The house is situated just one block from a Metro trolley. We could get to the museums and the other attractions quickly and easily. The hosts were kind and attentive, making sure our visit to D.C. would be a success.
Love love love!!!
We had a great family vacation to DC. The house is great. We had 9 of us staying, 5 adults, 3 teens, and one pre teen. Beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. Shower pressure was great. They had everything you needed and more. There was cereal, milk, juice, cookies, coffee available. We asked if they had a waffle maker and since they didn’t they went out and bought one. How awesome is that? Finding out about taking the DC Streetcar to Union Station and using the DC Circulator to get around DC was free was a plus. It saved us a ton of money. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to the area. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting DC. This is coming from someone who rarely leaves reviews. Loved our stay.
