About Amanda Perin

I am very fortunate to have a job that allows me to travel. During the many stays I had in the Hawaiian Islands I felt very connected to the Big Island and I started to consider a place where I would someday like to reside permanently. I do a lot of driving in the Los Angeles, Ca area so I was delighted to see that driving here would be a lot simpler.

Amanda Perin purchased this condo in 2004

Why Amanda Perin chose Kohala Coast

My stays in the Big Island were downtown Kona and I enjoyed the tourist attractions, shopping and choice of restaurants, however, once that I got more involved about looking for the property and drove around the Island I was amazed at the people, the change of scenery, climate and the beautiful beaches. Driving back to Kona from Hawi I decided to look at few places in Waikoloa Village. The town is small, quiet, and with a shopping area that has a large full service supermarket surrounded by specialty shops.

What makes this condo unique

Waikoloa Villas is a privately owned condominium complex with parking available off the street and the unit is convenientely located steps away from parking. Ammenities as members of the Waikoloa Village Assoc. includes tennis courts, discounted golf, swimming pool, this is besides the two pools and spas available at the villas. It is only minutes away to the most popular resorts and beaches in the Kohala Coast.

Had everything we needed.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our two week stay very much. The condo was very nice. We had a great sunset view from the lanai. The turkeys were fun to see as well; wandering past us often, as we sat outside. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The condo was kept at the perfect temperature using the very quiet ceiling fans in living room and bedroom. It was nice to be up the hill a bit, with easy access to adventures in multiple directions.

A great time in a nice condo.

We spent 6weeks at Amanda's condo and really enjoyed it. We found it spacious and very clean. The property is very well maintained and Amanda was very helpful and prompt in responding to us.We enjoyed the proximity to the pool and the distant ocean views.

Great holiday!

Truly Lovely Condo for a good price

  • 5 of 5

This is a great main-floor condo overlooking the golf course. Nice and quiet (except for the bird song, which I really enjoy) and super roomy with large open concept living area that walked out to a spacious lanai. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and really tasteful décor with comfy furnishings. It had two good sized bedrooms with loads of windows. Great airflow kept it cool, even when it was quite warm out. Lovely pool area with hot tub that was never busy. Loads of bedding, towels, and beach toys added to our enjoyment. The best beaches on the island are within a 15 minute drive. A large KTA grocery store nearby is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm and had everything we needed! The condo owner was easy to deal with and everything happened exactly as she said it would. My only critique would be that a map would have made the property a bit easier to find as my GPS didn't recognize the address. Also, there is no dedicated parking which was awkward as two members of our party are not fully mobile, but we managed and it wasn't a big deal. All said, this was a great rental with a great owner/manager and I would rent it again in a heartbeat.

Adventure in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Amanda. We loved our stay. Everything was as posted: beautiful view, clean, roomy and comfortable, all appliances operational, nicely stocked to get you started. This was a great spot for us to tour the island. We alternated driving and beach days, ending each evening with a swim in the heated pool. Well mostly the parents were in the hot tub and our daughter was in the pool.

We really appreciated the beach gear (chairs, umbrella, coolers, boogie boards, one set of adult fins), that we kept in the trunk of the car, ready for each day's activities. There was more gear, but that's what we used.

Day 1 - Pick up Rental Car. Shop at Costco. Pick up smaller items at the grocery store in Waikoloa Village.

Day 2 - Rainbow coast (hiking in the Waipio, Laupahoehoe shore line and park, Akaka Falls, Rainbow Falls, Hilo Farmers Market)

Day 3 - Hapuna Beach (boogie boarding, whale watching, snorkelling, frisbee, and shoreline hike on ALA KAHAKAI TRAIL)

Day 4 - Volcanoes National Park (3 hour Kīlauea Iki Crater hike, Rim Road drive & sites, Chain of Craters Road & sites)

Day 5 - Hapuna Beach (beach and hike to Mauna Kea Beach on ALA KAHAKAI TRAIL) and Mauna Kea Summit ( we went to the visitors center, climbed to the top of the pu'u, stayed for some star gazing presentation time - be prepared for cold weather and spectacular sites)

Day 6 - Kahaluu Beach Park(awesome snorkelling [note, the beach is shelly & crowded, but still well worth the visit], wanted to surf but there wasn't enough of a wake)

Day 7 - Kua Bay (snorkelled with a pod of spinner dolphins, boogie boarded, read, watched whales)

Day 8 - Hapuna Beach & Pool Side Time (boogie boarded)

Mahalo, Amanda. You helped us make family memories of a life time.

Comfortable, great master suite and kitchen

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay over the Christmas holiday 2016. I like to cook and enjoyed the fact that this rental has plenty cooking utensils/options. Great Lanai and master suite, very comfortable overall. They also gave great care to details like laundry, detergent dishwasher detergent and paper products. All things you don't want to have to stock. Thank you!!
