Early 1800s Greek Revival Style Farmhouse

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,900 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6

We have a family getaway in the Berkshires that we also rent. Set on 2 acres in the Stockbridge hamlet of Glendale, the house is conveniently located - just a short walk to the Norman Rockwell Museum, Chesterwood House and Botanical Gardens. The sunny 1st floor features a living room with fireplace open to the well-equipped kitchen, the dining room, a den with daybed, and the master suite with dressing area and bath. The 2nd floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. All rooms have hardwood floors (many contain the original floors) except the bathroom floors which are tiled. We updated both bathrooms with a 'vintage modern' aesthetic and furnished the rooms with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces.

About Michelle Teillon

I grew up visiting my grandparents in Williamstown, and loved the natural beauty of the area. As an adult, I appreciate the range of things to do across the seasons - performing arts, museums, historical house tours and outdoor activities like hiking, biking, skiing and swimming.

I live in Boston, and enjoy traveling.

Why Michelle Teillon chose Berkshires

This was the first house that my realtor showed me, and I fell in love - great light, wonderful bones and a lovely yard. It will sound corny but it felt like a happy house, and it still does!

Great property

We just had a quick last minute weekend getaway to visit family in the area. This house was very comfortable, wonderfully equipped, and beautifully decorated. Michelle has a very comprehensive house guide with everything to do in the Berkshires.

Beautiful, Central-Berkshires Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I've always wanted to introduce my Colorado friends to the Berkshires, and had the opportunity to do so in early June. This lovely updated farmhouse was perfectly suited for our four day adventure. This home is fabulously decorated in a way that maintains the charm of the 19th century, while offering every amenity we needed. In the central Berkshires, we easily could pop out to visit a museum and hike, then head back for a meal or relaxing in the lovely yard. The master suite is beautiful and large, on the ground floor, so great for all ages. The nearby extra room with a trundle/sleigh bed is perfect if a younger child needs to be nearby. Upstairs, two delightful rooms await visitors.

The kitchen and bathrooms had everything that we needed. Basic supplies were on hand, something we appreciate after traveling a long distance. No need to rush out fit soap or TP when you are tired. Most nights we went out to eat, but one night we hosted a couple for a wonderful dinner, as comfortable and welcoming as our own home.

The owner, Michelle, thoughtfully provided one of the most extensive guides to the house and the area, so we didn't have to guess about restaurants that we had never tried, or miss a wonderful hike.

We definitely will return for another visit in the future!

We arrived a bit early and the housekeeper was just finishing up. The photos do not do this beautiful home justice!!! It was so very clean and tidy. We chatted with her for a bit and she filled us in on some places to eat, things to do.

The beds were comfortable and the master suite was AMAZING. All linens were of exceptional quality and fresh smelling. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare a meal.

The owner was very friendly and prompt with her replies to my emails.

I highly suggest staying here if this is the area you are traveling to!!!

Had everything we needed and, super owner to deal with, too!

  • 5 of 5

We were at this lovely old house for a long weekend - we met there from all different directions to explore the area a little bit and just spend time together. The owner is super at communicating exactly what is there, the layout, etc. as well as having many pages of guides on what to do, good places to eat, and even hiking routes!

The house is very clean and all the provided bedding and towels are high quality. We chose to cook/eat "in" one evening just so we had more time to visit with each other and were amazed at how well-equipped the kitchen was.

We also enjoyed the location; as mentioned, it is close to many towns, restaurants, and attractions.

We used our time to the fullest touring, shopping, eating and exploring what was around, and saw a lot, however, we easily could have spent more time there - there is much more to see and do (even more beginning in May; a few of the things we asked about were somewhat seasonal, May - October).

I have no hesitation in recommending this house for a fun getaway! We were all comfortable...

Great House, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for a week in July, 2015. The house had all the amenities of home, was exactly as described on the website, and was a perfect haven to return to after a busy day of hiking, kayaking, antiquing, museum hopping, attending performances at the Tanglewood Festival, Shakespeare Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, and generally doing all the stuff one does in the Berkshires. The house is close to everything and the owner takes really good care of her guests. We could not recommend it more highly.
