Very good for the price!
My wife and I were very pleased with Tuck's Landing! It was everything we could have hoped for on the budget we had! Very clean and well kept up property! Although not exactly on the beach, it still had some pretty awesome views from the porch. We would definately recommend this rental to anyone!
The WOW factor! WONDERFUL!
This place was awesome! We had everything we needed. Marc was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions! We felt safe and secure! I have no words to express how rested we felt after our week long stay! Thank you Marc!
Beautiful location with very accommodating host
Even with very inclement weather we enjoyed a comfortable stay and impressive views of the Gulf, with playful dolphins, soaring pelicans, and great fishing.
Rate is little high.
Needs some maintenance and better general cleaning.
Direct ocean view, really comfortable house, exceeded our expectations!
Our family of 5 adults and 2 teens rented Tuck's Landing for a week in July. Check in instructions were very clearly communicated so it was really easy. The sandy swimming beach was just a block from the house and easily accessed. Little did we know that we would enjoy our house as much as we did. We had an unobstructed Gulf view, lots of shady, breezy deck time, big windows to see the water even when we were inside (pulled up the blinds), and entertainment in the water in the form of dolphins, jumping fish, boats, and fishermen. Although we had internet, TV, music, and a BluRay player, we felt no need for devices while we were there. The kitchen has everything you could imaging...well maybe not a margarita machine or Belgian wafflemaker, but everything else you could need for cooking your own vacation meals. The beds were comfortable and we slept cool with a well functioning A/C. One of our teens loved the downstairs shower with both hot and cold water. There were puzzles in the drawer along with a whole selection of DVDs and magazines to keep us entertained.
This paragraph will be used to draw attention to the very few things that we discovered that were a tiny bit disappointing, but certainly not anything major. It just helps sometimes to know some things ahead of time to be prepared. There's no ramp or outside elevator for those who have trouble climbing stairs although there are several in the neighborhood, so I think people are starting to realize that our population is aging. The 2nd little disappointment was that the middle drawer in the fridge falls out of its slots when there's any weight at all in it (we just took it out completely), and the cable to the BluRay player needs to be replaced. I communicated this to Marc, the owner, and no doubt he has already replaced it. I found him to be very responsive to any communication.
We had a great time and look forward to returning.
Amazing view with wave crashing therapy!
Although not on the beach, with this property's huge front deck one feels like you're there. The crashing waves atmoslhere and beach experience is there. You have the large walking beach right behind you to the West and jetti/boulder rocks right in front (60-70 yards). The kitchen is ispacious and beds are comfortable. The house has room to accommodate many due to room full of bunk beds as well as a very comfortable den couch my 13 year old slept on. What we love about staying down at the pass is the privacy and less congestion offered versus on the sea wall. Marios pizza on Pirates beach isn't too far away for a run in/out of town. Moody's is about 25-30 away. We also loved the dining experience next to Gaidos-Nicks Kitchen. What a relaxing time!
Tuck's Landing beach house retreat features an exceptional beach front view of the Gulf of Mexico, and is located 15 minutes outside of Historic Galveston. Walk along The Strand, tour historic homes, and visit Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn Waterpark. World class sunrises over the panoramic ocean view are breathtaking! San Luis Pass is famous for some of the best trout fishing along the Gulf Coast. The 12 mile long beach that connects San Luis Pass and Surfside is perfect for a picnic, kite-flying and building castles in the sand. Surfing, swimming, shelling and sunbathing are just a few of the activities for you to enjoy. Also located on The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, (upper Texas Coast region) ~ San Luis Pass is rated one of the top ten birding areas. Grab your binoculars - or use ours to sit back and watch the dolphins play right off our deck. You will love your escape to Tuck's Landing! Other Activities: Moody Gardens, Carriage Rides, Schlitterbahn, Dolphin watching, Historic Homes, Beaches, The Strand, Birding, Shelling, Deep Sea Fishing
