An adorable cottage, a relaxing setting.

  • 4 of 5

Overlook is a sweet cottage and just the right size for our family of four and dog. It was the perfect place to relax at the end of our hiking and water adventures. The backdrop of the lake added to the serenity and we enjoyed some time on and in the water. The living room area is more than ample (enough room for four to play charades from where we each sat) and the front porch is added space to relax and has plenty of storage area for things like our cooler and shoes. We will definitely look for Overlook if/when we return to the area.

Cozy and Convenient

  • 4 of 5

My husband, son and I enjoyed our quiet and comfortable visit to the Overlook, and were happy to be able to bring our dog along. The cabin is in a quiet and picturesque location, and is convenient to all the surrounding beauty and attractions of the White Mountains region. We were glad to be able to sit by the fire in the evenings when the temps cooled, and enjoy our morning coffee looking out at the lake. Though not really lakeside, it is close enough to enjoy the view. Pleasantly comfortable.

Cozy, Comfy, Clean and Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time vacationing at the Overlook. Honestly we won't consider renting anywhere else as long as this is available. This is off the beaten path but not too secluded. Three of us and our 3-year-old English bulldog were so comfortable here as it is so clean and cozy. After a long day nearby of sightseeing, hiking, kayaking, fishing or taking in one of the nearby fun attractions it was so nice to come back and settle in here. Our son loves it there too. Waking up in the morning there is nothing short of beautiful. Stargazing outside at night is amazing. Donna is so friendly and helpful! There are two bedrooms one with bunkbeds a huge living room with a futon sofa and a nice comfy sofa as well as a chair. There's a small kitchen table that if you sit there with your coffee in the morning you can see the lake through the trees. There is also a front porch area which is very comfortable. They have a grill outside which we did use, when I wasn't cooking in the kitchen. We highly recommend the Overlook!

Summer Stay

  • 3 of 5

We wanted a pet friendly place to stay in the NH White Mtns. area that gave us the advantage of enjoying the mountains and the lake at the same time. We were four adults and one dog. Overlook Cottage fit the bill perfectly. Although not lakeside it is situated a few hundred feet back on a small rise. It is surrounded front back and all sides with other larger houses. But there is enough space between properties to feel comfortable about it. We were pleasantly surprised to find the inside of the cottage itself was larger than the pictures suggest. It was clean and well maintained overall and the amenities provided were as listed in the description. Since we had two couples we used the futon in the living room instead of the bunk beds. It worked out very nicely. However the one bad part of our experience was the bathroom. Although the water pressure and hot water was very good, the shower stall was very small as to even hinder bending over too much. But worse was the constant overwhelming moldy smell that permeated the bathroom. To their credit we couldn't find or see any mold but we sure could smell it. This made it very difficult to be in the bathroom for any length of time. We had to keep the bathroom window open and the door closed at all times as it is right off the kitchen and the smell was intense. This was the one downside of this rental. I know the owners must smell it and they should take care of their mold problem asap. Other than that the property is convenient to everything and the communication between the owners Donna (who we met in person when we first arrived), Eric and us was excellent. They are very nice and pleasant people. This would of easily been a stellar review if not for their bathroom mold problem. Sorry Donna and Eric. But please address that issue and the Overlook will shine in the future.

Very peaceful cottage.

My grandmother and I were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay with our dog and we definitely found it. This cabin was perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer.
