Cabin Overlooks Sand Beach on 772 Acre Lake

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 7-9)

Welcome to our three bedroom (plus) cabin in Minong , Wisconsin, on 772 acre Lake Nancy. The cabin is close to the water, up a little hill from the lake. Our 600 foot private wooded road winds through oak and pine trees and ends just a short distance from the back door with room to park several cars.

Lake Nancy is a large clear lake offering northerns, bass, walleye, pan fish - even muskie. A four seat aluminum boat is provided for fishing or exploring, and the lake has a public ramp for launching your trailered boat. A favorite fishing spot is directly in front of our cabin. The lake slope is gradual with no drop offs. Enjoy your morning coffee out on the pier bench while listening to unique loon songs or watching bald eagles. The fire pit is available at dusk when you are ready for hot dogs, marshmallows, or tall tales. Very often the night sky is so black you can see the milky way.

The sun porch is on the upper level and provides quite a view with spectacular sun sets. We are 2 miles from Black Bear Golf course, an 18 hole, par 72, public course. You may also enjoy hiking or canoeing/tubing

on 2 nearby rivers. Day trips to Haward, Spooner, or Superior are common diversions.

The cabin has 3 bedrooms with one queen bed and 2 double beds, and a sun porch with a futon. The large central kitchen is next to carpeted TV room which has a sofa that converts to a full bed. There is also a basement for storing some of your equipment, and playing foosball. Electricity and gas are provided, as well as refrigerator/freezer, microwave, gas stove, satellite TV, DVD player, coffee maker, and fans.

Return the cabin clean, with things as you found them. Then scout outside to clean up after pets. Put equipment away for refund of deposit. Please report unsafe situations or problems encountered so that we can try to remedy them for our next guest and your next visit.

Why The Owner chose Minong

When the original resort was being divided up and sold my folks were fortunate to have first choice of the properties. I think the lot they selected has got to be one of the best on the whole lake. We are located at the center of the bay and look West across the whole lake. We have just enough elevation to have excellent views without climbing to access the beachfront. The breeze usually blows the warm surface water right into the bay for excellent afternoon swimming.

Perfect Family Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Everyone from the 4 year old to the grandparents agreed that this was a great family getaway. The cabin is very well equipped and clean. There was plenty of room for all 8 of us to have some private space as well as shared time all week. We enjoyed the remoteness and safety of the area, as well as visits by eagles, loons and hummingbirds. One huge bald eagle even perched on a log in the firepit. The boat launch was not far away, and the dock made for easy access to decent fishing and daily water play with the many toys. The swimming area was safe for the kids and the water remakably clear. Communication with the property owner was easy, and responses prompt and courteous. We would recommend this property to our friends and family and to you!

Owner's Response: Sorry that you were not able to connect with the past pontoon boat provider. I've tried to contact him, as well, and unfortunately, can only conclude he is now out of business. The cottage is positioned down the hill near the lake and the cell connections are spotty, especially if there is weather interference. At times, when we've needed to make outgoing calls I've found that walking upwards towards the road does result in more bars and better cell transmission. Thanks for the mention of the ants. I am wondering if the record heavy rains of the previous week had driven them to find a dry location. We have not been aware of any.previous ant issues.. but will check it out. Thanks for the information. Kaye

I wanna go back!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely time we had. The drive down the winding road was charming. The walk from the car to front door a breeze. Entryway right into the center kitchen w/ Br off to sides very efficient. We used the sun porch every morning drinking our hot coffee & the fire pit at night for a fire & stars. The sunsets were glorious- but the proximity to the lake could not be beat! We enjoyed the fishing boat z& got a kick out of the kayak. We caught a northern, walleye & bass- but we threw them back in to grow a bit for our return next year. The town grocery store is fun; the bait shop helpful; the bar burger place ( forget the name), Wendy's ( local diner), Flapjacks & Gritzkes (sp?) for Fri walleye fish fry amazing. BBQ grill allowed us to grill burgers etc. day trip to Hayward- next time will try day trip perhaps to Apostle Islands. Such a restful week back to nature - don't wait---do it! And our goldens LOVED IT- they never got enough of the swimming. Hate to say how great it was...want my pick of summer weeks for 2015. Thank you KD!

lake heaven

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four plus our dog stayed for 2 weeks and loved every bit of it. We played in the water for hours every day, really appreciated how close to the water the cabin sits. We loved the lune concerts, the circling eagles, the frequent visits of the hummingbirds.

The cabin lay out is family oriented: bedrooms on the outside, kitchen at the center as gathering space. It had everything we needed, including books, movies, games.

Two fold down sofas allow for plenty bed space to accommodate visitors.

We all had a truly wonderful time - it has been a long time since we had felt that relaxed as a family.

As an added bonus our communication with the friendly owner was prompt and helpful.

Wisconsin Cabin Wonder

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly what we had in mind when looking for a Wisconsin cabin. Great lake - my family fished every day of the week we were there, with two evening fish fry dinners. We rented a pontoon from Wisconsin Pontoon Rental, which was a good experience and pretty reasonable. We enjoyed this cabin thoroughly - used all the board and yard games, puzzles, and fun kayak. There is good swimming by the dock, but we also liked to park the pontoon in the deeps or on the sand bar for cooler water. Visiting family on one night brought our number of 5 to 11 sleeping over, with plenty of room. Well maintained and many extras, like fans, cleaning supplies, etc - less to pack and haul!

Would definitely stay again!

The space was very clean and well organized. It accommodated me, my wife, my brother, his wife, and his four children (aged 2-11). There were many options for sleeping, napping, etc. We stayed an entire week and experienced no difficulties. The property-owners were available and responsive in preparing for our stay. Day trips to Spooner, and Hayward were easy to manage and the fishing was fantastic. We had three car/boat rigs that were easy to park and navigate down the 1/4 mile or so driveway. We left one boat on the pier and used the other two for fishing the many options near the cabin.
