This typical stone Cévénol house is on the edge of the Cévennes, close to Anduze and its famous potteries, as well as the famous Bambouseraie. In the heart of the country, you can fish or swim in the Gardon, enjoy long outings full of discoveries or rest in the quiet of this rural setting. It is always cool inside the house, and many conifers and other mulberry trees are dotted about the grounds providing shade. Carefully restored, it retains its authenticity and is inviting to visitors with its comfortable bedrooms, include one of 36m2 and which is very bright, and a large tastefully arranged living room.

Thick stone walls ensured the house was still cool on the hottest of days. Trees (pine and bay) in the garden provided lovely dappled and scented shade. The vast garden was perfect for our dog to play in and the 'domaine communale' at the end of the road was just what we needed for longer walks
We have just returned from a 2 week stay in this lovely house. The house is spacious and simply furnished and has lots of character. We particularly loved the large garden with plenty of shade. We were lucky to have great weather and really enjoyed eating our meals outside and then at night looking up at the stars. The area has lots of great things to do and we sought out lots of swimming spots in the nearby rivers, as well as enjoying visiting various nearby towns and villages. The owner and housekeeper were generous and kind ( as well as the neighbour who fixed the gate lock for us ). One thing to note is that if you want bed linen to be provided, this can be arranged at an extra cost.
The old house and the big garden are really beautiful. But the huge rooms are strangely furnished everywhere are dolls and doilies, pots and pans placed, neatly arranged with broken electric devices like TV, radio, piano from the 60ties, wardrobes and shelves with squeaking – not-closing doors. Also the beds looked 40 years old, but were surprisingly comfortable. The bathrooms are old-fashioned but clean and functional. It was not our taste, but everything was clean and acceptable. Only the kitchen and the dishes gave us reason for critics the kitchen is very small. All kitchen appliances were provided (some looked 30 years old / stove, fridge and dishwasher were fine). But there is not enough space to prepare food. The small BBQ set has apparently not been used for a long time and took us a while to clean it. Dishes, glasses and cutlery are a mixed and insufficient hotchpotch with not-matching designs, forms, and materials, e.g. coffee mugs with smurfs, and old-fashioned plates with golden edges. That made our breakfast and diner table always to a wild combination, which we really disliked. Matching the old-fashioned style of the interior, also the information and pleasure facilities were outdated. The table tennis plate was thickly covered with dust, restaurant recommendations were dated from 2009. In all cabinets lay rubbish and unused stuff.
Beside a concentrated clear out from the scratch, we would suggest to offer bed linen and towel service, as you find in many other houses. To make the beds, was not our idea of beginning the holiday.
The house lies in a quiet residential area. Bakery and small supermarket are within walking distance. For our trips in all directions it was a good base.
